Situated 30km from Underberg on a tarred road, Lake Naverone has been established on a 400 hectare estate at the foothills of the mountains. A well maintained 1000m landing strip and hireable lock-up hangar make it easily accessible by air. Twenty one cottages, some situated on the larger lakeside, some on the smaller lakeside and the rest built in tranquil clearings shadowed by the surrounding woods, provide comfortable and luxurious accommodation with stunning views.
Children can enjoy ample space to play. Benches are placed in strategic spots on the property in order to allow guests to enjoy the ever changing scenery. Each cottage is supplied with a free rowing boat and guests are welcome to bring their own canoes, float tubes, sailing boats and windsurfers. Activities include trout fishing, boating, horse riding, tennis, birdwatching, walking, biking and hiking. The stables at Lake Naverone are a source of pride for Sixtus the head groom. The horses are in excellent condition and have been professionally trained to be responsive and obedient. Scenic out rides along the river is the perfect way to experience the spectacular setting. There are also ponies available for hand-guided walks for kids. There are several rugged mountain biking trails on the estate and in the surrounding area. Low traffic means the trails are unspoiled and you can always be assured of an endurance-testing ride.
