KaMsholo Bushveld Safaris is best known as a friendly pitstop for all travellers arriving into or departing from Eswatini through Lavumisa Border, with great restaurant facilities, take away’s and clean rest rooms. Beyond the roadside facilities, KaMsholo is a nature-rich 700ha reserve, dominated by the Umbrella Tree (Acacia tortillas) with a surprising species list which includes giraffe, reedbuck, waterbuck and ostrich.
Tinsele Rest Camp provides a tranquil overnight retreat 2km from the Restaurant, situated at the foot of the Lebombo Mountains, perfect for families, small groups, nature lovers and birders.
Nguni Ranch House is a semi self-catering facility with 11 en-suite rooms that sleeps two people. All 11 rooms have a small kitchenette, equipped with a microwave, small fridge and cutlery and crockery to enable warming up food and basic food prep. Nguni Ranch House is perfect for independent business travellers or friends and family groups.
The Bushveld Backpackers at the main reception area provides budget travellers traditional beehive huts.
Conferencing facilities at the main complex caters for conferences of various sizes.
Activities include Guided Game Walks, Game Drives, Pony Rides and Horse Riding while overnight guests may self-drive within the park.
Day Visitors are welcome to picnic, visit the restaurant or take part in guided activities.
Each of the 8 comfortable thatched huts in the Rest Camp is named after one of Eswatini’s famous Game Rangers and provides insight into the enormous challenges these great men have faced and the bravery they have displayed to enable Big Game Parks to achieve all that it has today, for Nature conservation and for their country.
Directions From Johannesburg:
- KaMsholo is easily accessible from Johannesburg via the Oshoek border post. Approximately a 5 hour drive from JHB. Head north on the N12 highway past Witbank and Middelburg. Pass the Alzu Garage on your right (nice place to stop to refresh) travel on for another 10km and turn right to Carolina. Travel straight through Carolina, take first right towards Oshoek Border after railway line. At T-Junction turn left towards Oshoek Border, travel for approximately 68km. Once through Border travel towards Big Bend, through Manzini. Border vehicle fees: ZAR50 per vehicle.
Directions From Durban:
- KaMsholo is easily accessible from KwaZulu Natal via the Golela border
post. KaMsholo is approximately 37 kilometers on the MR8 route on the
right hand side of the road and is quite clearly marked.
- From Durban, take the main N2 highway north to Zululand, past Mkuze and approximately 20km before Pongola, take the road to the right signposted to Golela, the border post into Eswatini.
Children under 3 years are Free of Charge
Children under 13 years pay 50% of the adult per person sharing rate.
