Meerensee is a premier, leafy suburb of Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal, located between the Indian Ocean (Alkantstrand beach) and an inland lake, offering a, tranquil residential setting. Known for its upper-income, established homes, it features lush coastal vegetation, a golf estate, and close proximity to the harbour.

Richards Bay offers a variety of clothing and accessories stores, with a large concentration located in the
Boardwalk Inkwazi Shopping Centre, as well as other local options
Richards Bay features a transitional climate between humid subtropical and tropical savanna.
This room is ideal for families of up to 4 people (2 Adults, 2 Children). The room has an inter-leading bedroom, both equipped with a Queen Size bed and 1 x bathroom.
This flat can be booked on a Self Catering or Bed & Breakfast base. Fully equipped Kitchen for guests who are staying long periods of time.
Luxury at its best. Big and spacious. Often used as a Honeymoon Suite but there is also that little bit of extra when there is a 3rd Person
This policy shall be applied in the event of a cancellation as stated:
- No of days prior to arrival Cancellation Fee
- 30 Days, 50% of the value of rooms will be charged
- 15 to 29 Days, 75% of the value of rooms will be charged
- 0 to 15 Days, 100% of the value of rooms will be charged
A no-show is the non-arrival of a guest without notification in writing by email to the Guesthouse. In the case of a no-show, a no-show fee plus government Taxes and Levies will be levied against you. In the event where a deposit has been paid, these fees will be deducted from that amount.
From Durban
From Durban take the N2 North for about 160 Kms (3 tolls).
From King Shaka Airport turn left onto the N2 by following the signpost for Stanger. Then proceed as below.
Go through 2 tolls before the big toll at Mtunzini.
About 20 kms after Mtunzini toll plaza take the Exit No 327 for Empangeni & Richards Bay.
At the traffic light, turn right onto the R34 to Richards Bay.
Remain on this road until you get into MEERENSEE which will be about 17 kilometers.
The R34 becomes John Ross Parkway and then changes into Anglers Rod which is the main road running through Meerensee.
At the traffic light in Meerensee, you will see the Pick ‘n Pay on the left side of the road and KFC on the right side of the road.
Turn left at this traffic light and Pick ‘n Pay will now be on your right. You are now in Krewelkring. The distances between the stops are quite long.
At the fourth stop you turn left into Kolstertkring. You will see the Hillton Manor sign.
At the third stop you turn left into Shad Shoal and again you will see the Hillton Manor sign.
We are at the bottom of Shad Shoal – no 37.
From Richards Bay Airport
The road from the Airport is called Fish Eagle Flight.
At the traffic light turn right into Nkoninga.
At the three way stop, take the left off ramp into East Central Arterial.
At the 3rd Traffic light, turn left into North Central Arterial.
At the 2nd Traffic light, turn left onto the John Ross Parkway.
After about 7 kilometres you will enter Meerensee.
The John Ross Parkway changes into Anglers Rod which is the main road running through Meerensee.
At the traffic light in Meerensee, you will see the Pick ‘n Pay on the left side of the road and KFC on the right side of the road.
Turn left at this traffic light and Pick ‘n Pay will now be on your right. You are now in Krewelkring. The distances between the stops are quite long.
