Hide-Away Guest House is a beautiful Cape Colonial home located within walking distance from the centre of Knysna and the Waterfront.
Your hosts, Cecil and Colleen Harding, offer a total of seven well-appointed rooms.
Five rooms in the Guest House which comprise of two executive rooms on the ground floor and three superior rooms on the first floor offer fantastic views of the lagoon and Knysna Heads. Two additional rooms without views are located in the Main House.
Each tastefully decorated bedroom is en-suite with five rooms flowing out onto timber decks that overlook the Knysna Lagoon and majestic `Knysna Heads`.
Complimentary wireless internet is available for all guests. A small gym and swimming pool are available for the use of guests. Laundry is done on request. Off street parking is provided.
Hide-Away Guest House provides the ideal location from which to explore the Garden Route. Featherbed Nature Reserve, Knysna Elephant Park, Tenikwa Wildlife Awareness Centre, Birds of Eden, Monkeyland, Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve are just some interesting places to visit. Our nearest beach is Brenton-on-Sea - probably one of the most scenic beaches in the Southern Cape.
Four Room types are offered:
- Executive with lagoon view
- Superior with lagoon view
- Superior with no lagoon view
- Standard with no lagoon view.
All rooms are en-suite and well appointed with queen size beds (one twin room is available). DSTV, mini bar, air-conditioning, fans, heaters, electric blankets, hairdryers, mini safes, clock radios and gowns are standard features in all rooms.
Coming from Cape Town/George:
N2 to Knysna from Cape Town
On approaching Knysna, after the turn off to Brenton-on-Sea, you will cross a bridge over the lagoon (referred to as the white bridge). Travel approx. 6 kms, passing through 2 sets of traffic lights, i.e. intersections of N2 and Welbedacht Road and Ou Kaapse Weg (Old Cape Road) respectively.
After the N2/Ou Kaapse Weg (Old Cape Road) main intersection, take second turning left into Albatross Street
Turn immediately left after 1 (ONE) meter. Do NOT travel up Albatross Street. If you reach a T-Junction you have gone too far!
Proceed along the service road parallel to N2 (must see the lagoon)

Coming from Port Elizabeth:
N2 to Knysna from PE
Drive through the town of Knysna.
Look out for Total petrol station on the right. From the next traffic light (junction of Main Road & Waterfront Drive) take
3rd road on the right (Albatross Street)
Turn left after 1 (ONE) meter. Do NOT travel up Albatross Street. If you reach a T-Junction you have gone too far!
Proceed along the service road parallel to N2 (must see the lagoon)
