Hawksmoor House is a Cape Dutch country retreat located on a 220- hectare wine farm, Matjieskuil, offering luxury accommodation near Stellenbosch in the Cape Winelands.

Meticulously restored and beautifully decorated with a touch of contemporary touches and exquisite antiques, it occupies a stunning location amidst the rolling vineyards overlooking Table Mountain, and enjoys spectacular sunsets. A 25 minute drive away from the buzzing Cape Town centre, the estate is quiet and serene.

In addition to our guests, the farm is home to horses, cows, porcupines, hawks, pelicans and countless other wildlife. Our resident German Pointers Grace & Virginia keep a watchful eye on the daily workings of the farm.

Our friendly and cheerful staff stay discreetly in the background, providing you with the feeling that you have the entire place to yourself. Hawksmoor House offers a totally unspoilt, unpolished and authentic country home experience for those who need some well-deserved rest.

It is the perfect place to unwind and unplug. If you love dirt roads, sunsets, wine by candlelight, an owl outside your window, and don`t mind sharing the pool with the occasional disoriented frog, or getting a paw print of our overzealous dogs on your trousers, you have found your place!

House & Grounds
The grounds are laid out to include a large lawn, reflecting koi pond, lavender beds; vegetable, rose and herb gardens, gorgeous and restored wine cellar with a fireplace, wine tasting room, and a swimming pool with a view of Table Mountain. A fence around the entire property provides privacy and security.

Our 2 German Pointers would love to accompany you on a walk through the vineyards to the nearby dam to check up on our colony of around 80 pelicans. If you are lucky, you might even come across a peacock, a porcupine, a tortoise or a small deer on the way.
