Nestled in the Winterhoek Mountains of the Eastern Cape, Haaspoort Bushcamp Private Nature reserve captures the serenity and beauty of the Karoo.
This unique Karoo accommodation is offered in four private thatched en-suite rooms which ensures that guests experience the utmost privacy and comfort. All chalets are equipped with en-suite bathrooms, ceiling fans, heaters and tea/coffee facilities. Each room sleeps 2 people in each, with the exception of the family chalet which has built in double bunk beds for children. The lodge can accommodate 10 guests. Exclusive use of the lodge is offered to self-caterers. The lapa, bar and dining area are ideally located close to the swimming pool. Haaspoort Bushcamp is owner run and managed by fifth generation Karoo settlers, Victor & Lindsay Watson along with their dedicated staff.
All hiking, mountain biking, self drive routes and 4x4 trails are safe and marked with maps and interesting information available on each route.
Take pleasure in stargazing under the clear Karoo skies in twin hammocks at the bushcamp. The reserve is a birders' paradise with over 100 species recorded including a nesting pair of black eagles.
Haaspoort is home to a large variety of rare plants, succulents such as the prehistoric "Elephant's Foot" and cycads.
The legendary "Zeekoeigat", a natural waterhole in a valley on the reserve, is the perfect place to cool off after an exhilarating hike.
Haaspoort Bushcamp is only 1hour and 40 minutes from the Port Elizabeth Airport.
