Fern Hill Hotel
Fern Hill has a reputation as one leading privately owned Hotels in South Africa. The owners, Gion and Karen Poltera, have an established reputation as restaurateurs and hoteliers. Gion is a graduate of Lausanne Hotel School and Karen is a graduate of the Cordon Bleu School in Sandton.

Delicious international cuisine in the Snooty Fox Restaurant. Fern Hill `s comfortable, elegant en - suite rooms will invite you back again and again. Relax in the Amarula Sunset Bar whilst viewing sporting events on the big screen.

Fern Hill is the gateway to the Midlands Meander, a scenic route of arts and crafts, tea gardens and country pubs. An hour from The Natal Drakensberg, the Barrier of Spears is rich in Bushman Heritage.

History was made near Fern Hill in 1962 when President Mandela was arrested here. In 1996 he was given the Freedom of Howick at a banquet held in his honour. Now we are close to the incredible Mandela Monument, which is definitely worth a visit.

Sporting facilities include swimming and tennis. A round of Golf at the nearby Boschhoek or a day sailing at Midmar Dam are additional entertainment options. Canopy tours can be arranged in the breath-taking tree tops of Karkloof.

The Fern Hill Theatre is the perfect conference, wedding reception, dinner and dance or party venue, seating up to 250 people.

Whether you visit, wine, dine or book in for the night, we `ll ensure you a comfortable and warm welcome.
