vayKZN Umdloti comfortably accommodates 6 guests. It has an open plan indoor/outdoor living and entertainment area, 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, en-suite bathroom, ceiling fan, aircon and built in cupboards. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, and the third bedroom has a bunk bed. The second and third bedrooms both have ceiling fans, built in cupboards and share the second bathroom. The lounge holds comfortable seating as well as a TV with DStv Premium, and Wi-Fi. There is a large balcony with built-in barbecue/braai facilities and an incredible sea view.

Guests have unlimited access to the complimentary, unlimited Wi-Fi. Cleaning services can be arranged in advance for duration of your stay, weekends and South African Public Holidays. While the apartment is fully equipped with laundry facilities, guests can arrange laundry services directly with the cleaning company. Area Info:

Situated in the heart of KwaZulu Natal’s Dolphin Coast, this seaside unit is a hop skip and jump away from a swimming beach, and a few minutes’ walk from a tidal pool and some rather impressive shops, bars and restaurants. 

This charming seaside town’s located between Umhlanga and Ballito, at the mouth of the Mdloti River. Umdloti Beach is a coastal conservancy, with surrounding fields of sugar cane and indigenous forests. The area is a prime location for various wildlife sightings, including whales, dolphins and innumerable bird species.

With Umhlanga’s vibey attractions nearby, Gateway Shopping Centre an 8-minute drive away, 10kms to King Shaka International Airport, and Ballito 15kms further up the North coast, this oceanfront gem is conveniently situated for those in need of entertainment or a spot of retail therapy.

Getting around:

  • Guests can use the M4 and N2 Freeways to access Umdloti / travel to Umhlanga and Durban.
  • The airport is only 8 minutes away which is super convenient for car hire/travel.
  • There isn’t really a need for a car once you’re in the area as most shops and restaurants are within walking distance. 
  • There is a swimming beach across the road from the apartment, and an AWESOME child-friendly tidal pool is a short 5-minute walk away. 
  • A key point to note is that Umdloti’s tidal pool is naturally protected by rocks so it’s not affected by strong currents and large waves. This makes it ideal for little kids, elderly people and novice swimmers to enjoy the ocean, and some fun in the sun.
  • The area allows for bicycles and is love for taking walks on the beach and across the promenade.
  • Uber is available to/from Umdloti Beach.

House Rules:

Thanks for choosing to stay with vayKZN! Please ensure that you read and fully understand the house rules at the beginning of your stay. If anything is unclear, please contact your host who will explain in further detail to avoid any misunderstandings.

  • A lot of effort has been put into making this apartment a lovely space for guests to enjoy. This property is a holiday home and not a hotel. Please be respectful of the property, and treat with the same respect as you would your own home.
  • Please ensure that you maintain a good level of cleanliness throughout your stay. Please throw garbage into the bins and ensure that food is not left lying around. Guests can throw excess rubbish into the green bins in the gated garbage room besides the undercover parking garage.
  • vayKZN is the perfectly positioned for guests to enjoy fun on the beach :) There is an outdoor shower in front of the driveway by the steps, on the right-hand side of the building. Please use this facility to wash off beach sand before coming into the apartment.
  • This is an eco-friendly home! Please make sure you switch off aircons, lights, fans or any other small electrical appliances when you go out.
  • Please keep the balcony cushions inside at night/when they’re not in use to protect from sun/rain damage.
  • The balcony’s privacy blinds are a fixed feature. Please do not unfasten the rope or attempt to raise the blinds.
  • While this building is pet friendly, this is subject to approval prior to booking. Please note, out of respect for future guests, we kindly request that pets aren’t permitted to sleep on the furniture and beds.
  • Monkeys frequent the area. Please keep the windows and doors closed to prevent the monkeys from entering the apartment when you aren’t around.
  • Please leave the dehumidifier running in the main bedroom. It is understandable if you’d prefer to switch it off while you sleep.
  • In case of any accidental damage, the issue will be assessed internally to determine any deduction/repair costs.
  • Kindly note that this is a non-smoking apartment.
  • Please DO NOT touch/reset the WIFI Router. It is extremely stable and very sensitive. If it is reset, it will initiate factory settings and a technician will have to be called out. Guests who fail to comply with this request will be charged for this service fee. If you experience any issue whatsoever, please contact your host for assistance.
  • Parties and Events are strictly prohibited (not allowed!) If guests are found to have had a party which results in extra cleaning, guests will be responsible for extra cleaning charges and in the unfortunate event of any disruptions alerting neighbours, GUESTS WILL BE ASKED TO VACATE THE PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY.
  • We hope you have lots of laughter and fun times during your vacation! However, out of respect for the caretaker and residents, guests should be mindful of noise. Noise is not permitted before 9 am, and after 10pm (Sunday to Thursday) and 11pm (Friday and Saturday.) Guests who breach these times may be evicted and liable to a fine from the body corporate. Please see vayKZN’s Terms and Conditions.
  • If guests are suspected of carrying and/or using illegal drugs of any kind, the authorities will be engaged, and GUESTS WILL BE ASKED TO VACATE THE PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY.
  • Guests’ requests for early arrivals/delayed departures are fully dependent on availability. vayKZN has a high occupancy rate therefore availability will be confirmed around 9:30pm on the evening prior to your date of arrival/on the morning of departure.
  • Guests are responsible for ensuring that any visitors comply with these House Rules.
  • Any additional overnight Visitors must be approved in advance, and are subject to an additional fee as noted in vayKZN’s rates.

  • vayKZN maintains a strict Cancellation Policy. Guests are expected to comply with the relevant terms and conditions.
  • We reserve the right to evict for unruly behaviour and overcrowding without refunding.
  • Extra cleaning fees may be charged as required.
  • Any damage or loss of property will be deducted from Guest’s Key and Breakages Deposit, or may result in additional invoicing as required.
  • Body corporate fines are payable within 24 hours of issue. Guests agree to payment of such fines irrespective of their reasoning for the fine being issued. Please note that fines may result in Guests having to immediately vacate the premises.
  • The owner and staff of vayKZN Umdloti will not be held liable for any damages, loss and injuries of guests.
  • 50% Deposit is required to Confirm Reservation.
  • 50% Outstanding Balance and Cleaning Fee (R695) is payable 2 weeks prior to Arrival Date.
  • Refundable Keys and Breakages Deposit (in the amount of R1500) to be paid prior/on date of Guests Arrival.
  • A 15% service fee is charged on all cancellations.
  • Guests’ occupation of the property, in line with the period of their reservation, will be deemed as their agreement to abide by the property’s aforementioned House Rules, and their acceptance of the property’s aforementioned Terms of Conditions.
