The Elephant Coast Guesthouse is situated in the town of St. Lucia, gateway to iSimangaliso (the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park), which was listed as South Africa’s first World Heritage Site in December 1999 in recognition of its unique global values. The Guesthouse is set amidst a subtropical garden neighbouring the St. Lucia Nature Reserve where the forest trees reflects on a luxurious swimming pool. It has been given four star grading by the South African Tourism Grading Council. All the elegantly furnished rooms are decorated in a modern African Style. Double rooms, Twin or Triple rooms and Family units are available. The air-conditioned rooms with private bathrooms (bath & shower), tea/coffee making facilities, small fridges, hairdryers, toiletries/bathroom amenities have outside doors opening onto a terrace. A delicious Buffet spread Breakfast is served on the patio overlooking the garden. Lunch and Dinner are not a problem as St. Lucia boasts with a variety of restaurants, most in walking distance from the guesthouse.

The tour desk can help you plan and book your excursions, such as Big 5 game drives, night game drives, sunset tours, hippo and croc tours, bird watching, kayaking, cycling, culture village tours, turtle tours, whale watching, marine mammal tours, deep sea fishing and horse riding. For lunch and dinner, there are a variety of restaurants, within 5 minutes drive from the guest house.
*We are often visited by resident wildlife. Hippos, bushbucks, porcupines, small antelope, mongoose, monkeys, bushpigs and lots of feathery friends. Come and experience the unique richness of this very special World Heritage Site
*The Elephant Coast Guesthouse is an hour’s drive to the Hluhluwe / Imfolozi Game Reserve, a half or full day & for the young at heart a game drive through the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park and a picnic at Cape Vidal Beach where you can swim & snorkel.
If cancelling 7 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the booking total.
If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 75% of the booking total.
If cancelling 28 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the booking total.
All children are more than welcome at the Elephant Coast Guesthouse. Toddlers two (2) years & younger, sharing with parents stay free of charge including breakfast, please note specific rooms only. Children 12 years & younger, sharing with their parents will pay 50% of the Adult rate per child including breakfast, please note Family Units only. Children occupying their own rooms will be charged as adults. Please notify the Guesthouse if ANY Children, Toddlers or Babies are included in your travel party! Sorry - We do not have Babysitters. OTHER CONDITIONS Family units are available - please contact us for special rates based on the occupancy of the rooms. There is NO capacity for extra beds in the rooms. All rooms and room patios are non-smoking, please use the Smoking corner in the garden. Free Off-Street Parking is available - one vehicle per room.
You will be travelling on the N2 either from Durban (South Side) or from Johannesburg, Kruger Park, Swaziland, Pongola, Mkuze & Hluhluwe (North Side). Turn off the N2 High Way at MTUBATUBA, which is still 27 km from St. Lucia. Take the R618 from Mtubatuba to ST. LUCIA. On arriving in St. Lucia, you would cross the bridge over the St. Lucia Estuary and reach a 3 way yield sign. Turn left & immediately right into BEACH ROAD. Take the second (2nd) street right, KINGFISHER STREET, the first (1st) house on your LEFT is ELEPHANT COAST GUEST HOUSE, you have reached your destination - safe travelling ! * Travel via Hluhluwe Park to St Lucia it is a 3 hours drive and travel from Swaziland to St Lucia it is a 6 - 7 hrs drive.
