The 1909 built farmhouse (colonial style) is situated high on riverbank and overlooks breathtaking scenery with unspoilt nature. The African savannah and a waterhole at the farmhouse offer you the real impression of being out in Africa. Free roaming game can be regularly seen.
Düsternbrook, close to Windhoek, is your ideal venue not only for yourfirst and last nights in Namibia - but also to rest a few days between your north and south tour in Namibia.
Our leopards and cheetah are a main attraction for overnight guests and day visitors. People come from far as leopards and cheetah are rarely seen in the wild. We offer you this unique opportunity to observe and photograph these big cats: they are a Photographer's Dream. Our experience over the years enables us to show you these beautiful cats.
European cuisine, freshly prepared, often including local game and beef dishes, homemade bread and traditional barbecues in our thatched Lapa are offered around a camp fire.
Fine South-African wines, Namibian beer brewed in German tradition ("Reinheitsgebot") and several softdrinks as well as fruit juices are available.

Very friendly reception. The communal dinner was a surprise. The interaction with the owner and first hand history of the facility and environment great! The guides were not very professional, but it is part of the strategy to employ the local people. Our small car almost did not make it to the farm - sand is thick at places. The rivers that one had to drive through was a surprise but not really a problem.

We stayed in the Luxury Tents which are close to the river and a little away from the main buildings. This afforded us wonderful privacy and a real sense of being "out in the bush". The staff were very pleasant and unobtrusive; Elias the driver who took us on various game drives was a skillful 4x4 driver and clearly determined to get us to see as much game as possible. The food was excellent. The views spectacular. A wonderful break from the pressures of city living.
