Dsternbrook Safari Guest Farm is situated on a mountain with a breath taking view overlooking a dry wide riverbed and a waterhole, is the first and oldest guest farm in Namibia.

The historical old farm house, was built in colonial style and out of natural stone, is nestled at the foot of the Khomas Highland Mountains and the surrounding African savannah.

Before 1908 the area was called Otjihorogo (the plae of the kudu). The ranch was situated on the old ox wagon road which formed the main supply route from the coast (Walfish bay) to the interior, called Bay road.

Further more what makes this place really unique is our eco philosophy. We participate in Namibia since 2005 in the eco award which covers 6 different categories.

It is without question the most difficult award to get. We had three out of 5 flowers. In 2008 and 2012 we managed to get 4 out of 5 flowers. We are, may be next to only one or two Wilderness Lodges, the only guest farm in Namibia which has achieved such a high rating.

We have also obtained awards from the hotel association like silver and brons but this is based on fed back of clients while the other award is really inspected.

Accommodation at Duesternbrook Safari Guest Farm:
The different rooms are located in separate guesthouses. All our rooms are individually furnished, partly with antique elements, so each room has its own charm and style.

The "best view" guesthouse (called Felsenhaus) has two double rooms overlooking a very scenic riverbed. These two rooms are in our highest price range.

Also in the higher price range we have a separate double room. It`s called the `African room` because of it`s typical african furniture.

In the middle price range we have the colonial house.

One double unit and one single room. In the economy price range we offer two big double safari luxury tents for those who like to be even closer to nature.

These tents, as big as rooms, are about 30 m apart. They are furnished like rooms. The bath en suite is built out of natural stone. Camping site for 4 to 5 campers.

Activities:

On our game drives you will see Giraffe, Zebra, Ostrich, Wildebeest, Kudu, Oryx, Eland, Warthog, Hartebeest, Impala and Steenbok.

If you like we offer in the morning a mountain drive (included if you book two nights). Here, in spectacular mountain scenery, you might see the Hartmann Mountain zebra which is endemic to Namibia.
