Cheriton Guest House offers cosy accommodation with warm, friendly service in a century old home overlooking False Bay and the historic naval town of Simon`s Town.
Set against the mountain in the quiet suburb of Seaforth, porcupine are frequent nocturnal visitors and guinea fowl roost in the surrounding trees. We are within easy walking distance of the penguins at Boulders, Seaforth Beach, restaurants and all the conveniences of the town.
Breakfast is full English with yoghurt, fresh fruit and a choice of cereals. In winter, we serve in the dining room with a roaring fire and in summer on the breakfast deck or balcony with stunning views of the mountain and sea.
The deck has a telescope and binoculars for viewing whales, dolphins, kayaks, naval vessels plus all the other activities that take place in the bay.
The strong maritime theme throughout Cheriton is particularly noticeable in the "Just Nuisance" pub. This honesty bar which is packed with naval artifacts is for the exclusive use of our guests. Attached to it is a room called the "snug" which is stocked with various collections and board games for chilly winter evenings.
Internet facilities are available with WIFI hot spots in the house and some rooms.
We speak English, German, Dutch and Afrikaans. Children are welcome if they are able to swim as all rooms surround the pool.

Directions from Cape Town International Airport:
Distance +/- 45 kms (about 45 mins depending on traffic):
Take N2 to Cape Town, then M3 to Muizenberg. At the T-junction at end of M3, turn right to Simon's Town and left at the 2nd traffic light over Ou Kaapse Weg (M64).
Travel through Sun Valley and Glencairn until you reach a T-junction facing the sea. Turn right on to the M4 to Simon's Town.
Travel through the town passing the station, shops, Tourist bureau. At the Police Station travel another 1km until the Seven Eleven.
Turn right into Harrington Road. At the top, turn right into Jan Smuts.
Cheriton is on the next corner - 19 Belmont Road.
All 6 rooms have showers-en-suite and are equipped with under floor heating, fridges, safes, TV's, DVD players, fridges, microwaves, sherry, homemade biscuits and hospitality trays. We have an extensive collection of DVD's which are free to our guests.
The Outeniqua is a family room in the garden with a queen bed and double bunks in an annex with an interleading door.
The Transvaal is near the braai area, has twin beds and a small kitchenette.
The Emily Hobhouse leads off the pub. It is a favourite with guests who know it and call it the room with a pub-en-suite.
The Protea and the Drakensburg have twin beds while the Simon van der Stel has a four poster double bed.
