Bonnievale River Lodge is situated on the Breede River on the outskirts of Bonnievale in the Western Cape. Nestled among Vineyards we offer stylish self-catering accommodation and a small intimate camp site.
Approximately 200 km from Cape Town and George we are ideally placed to explore the area.
We are situated in the middle of the Roberston wine valley and 15 mins from the Route 62 wine route. There is much to do in the area including visiting wine farms, trying out good restaurants and for the outdoor lover there are hikes, 4x4 trails and cycle routes.
Fishing, canoeing and swimming in the river during the summer months. We also have a swimming pool tucked away in the vineyards.
Accommodation at Bonnievale River Lodge: The Farmhouse The Farmhouse is fully self-catering and equipped. The Farmhouse consists of 2 bedrooms sharing 1 bathroom. The large main bedroom has a queen sized bed with percale linen and electric blankets for winter. The bathroom has a free standing bath and separate shower. T he second bedroom has 2 single beds and would be ideal for 2 children. Big living spaces with 10 seater dining room table. There is a large Jetmaster fireplace for the cold winter nights and a dover stove in the kitchen. French doors lead to a covered veranda, braai area and garden. Flat screen television with selected DSTV channels. The Farmhouse is luxurious with hand made clay terracotta tiled floors and traditional cape furniture.
The West Suite The West Suite sleeps 2 and can be booked as part of the Farmhouse or on its own and offers a large suite with bathroom next door to the Farmhouse and with a separate entrance. It has a bathroom with bath and separate shower. The West Suite is approximately 30 metres from the river front. It is semi-self catering but does not have kitchen facilities.
The Vineyard Suite The Vineyard suite is a large luxurious suite with Queen sized bed and bathroom with double shower. It is approximately 40 metres from the river front. Stunning views over the vineyards and often beautiful sunsets to enjoy. Fully self-catering and with a fireplace for the cold winter nights. Garden and braai area. Television with selected DSTV channels.
The Fisherman`s Cabin Rustic wooden cabin with covered veranda and braai deck. Small enclosed garden. The cabin is approximately 20 metres from the river. 2 single beds, kitchen and bathroom with shower. Television with TopTV satellite channels.

From the N2 coming from Cape Town 20 kms after Riviersonderend take the Stormsvlei, Bonnievale turnoff Continue for another 20 kms until you come to Bonnievale Wine Cellar on your right, turn left onto the R317 to Robertson. Continue for exactly 2.4 kms and then turn right onto a tar road that takes you toward the river (There is no sign board). Ignore the road closed signs if there are any. Just before the river, turn left at our sign and continue until you reach our gate.
From the N1 coming from Cape Town Follow the signs to Bonnievale from Worcestor and Robertson. Turn right at the circle in Robertson to Bonnievale. When you reach Bonnievale town centre, continue through the Main Rd. Turn right at the sign R317 Stormsvlei. Cross the river, pass Parmalat factory on your left. At Bonnievale Wine Cellar on your left turn right at the sign R317 Robertson, McGregor. Continue for exactly 2.4kms and then turn right toward the river on a tar road. Ignore the road closed signs if there are any. Just before the river turn left at our sign board and continue until you reach our gate.
From the R60 coming from Montagu or Ashton Make your way into Bonnievale via the R60. You will come eventually to a T Junction which is Bonnievale Main Rd, turn left and drive down the Main Road. Turn right at the sign which says R317 Stormsvlei. Cross the river, pass Parmalat factory on your left. At Bonnievale Wine Cellar turn right at the sign R317 Robertson, McGregor. Continue for exactly 2.4kms and then turn right toward the river on a tar road. Just before the river turn left at our sign board and continue until you reach our gate.
From the R60 coming from Swellendam Take the first turn off the R60 to Bonnievale. You will eventually arrive in Bonnievale Main Rd. Turn left at the sign which says R317 Stormsvlei. Cross the river, pass Parmalat factory on your left. At Bonnievale Wine Cellar turn right at the sign R317 Robertson, McGregor. Continue for exactly 2.4kms and then turn right toward the river on a tar road. Just before the river turn left at our sign board and continue until you reach our gate.
