Boer & Brit Self-Catering Guest House serves as a convenient halfway stopover between the Free State, Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and the north or south coast of Natal.
The guest house features nine well-equipped and spacious units, each with its own entrance, private bathroom, and kitchenette. All units are lovingly serviced daily, seven days a week, ensuring a comfortable stay.
Establishment Facilities: Amenities include enclosed and outdoor braai (BBQ) area with gas stoves, an outdoor swimming pool and secure, off-street parking behind locked gates. We have CCTV covering the main gate, parking area and common areas.

Ladysmith and surroundings is a historical paradise and people from all over the world view the many battle sites, museums and cemeteries dotted over this area from the 10 major battles fought here during the Second Anglo-Boer war from 1899 to 1902. The names of Spioenkop, Colenso, Platrand and Elandslaagte are the main attractions. Ladysmith’s Siege Museum is a must for all historical buffs, and the town hall is worth a visit where the two Howitzers used during the Anglo-Boer War, Castor and Pollux, are on display. Other gunsites are open for viewing in and around Ladysmith.
Attractions:
Two excellent smaller game reserves may be seen and the Spioenkop dam has a lovely selection of animals and birds including Rhinos. Weenen nature reserve is also worth a visit and some game farms in our area take non residential visitors. You can also book canopy tours and river rafting in the area.

Failure to arrive by 20:00 without prior arrangement will be seen as a non-show and deposit will be forfeited
Parking: Although we have ample secure parking available, please arrange with management if you require overnight parking for a boat, large trailer (longer than 3 metres) or caravan.
Small house trained, non-aggressive pets are welcome, as long as they do not disturb other guests, as we also have dogs and cats.
No smoking in the units. Smoking areas with ashtrays are located outside the building.

Take Ladysmith turn-off
Once you enter the town, turn left the first traffic light into Frances Rd.
At the first traffic light, turn right into Farquhar Rd.
At the 4-way stop turn left into Convent Rd..
After about 350 metres, look for the Boer en Brit signs on your left.
From Pietermaritzburg (Durban) via N3 North (Toll road)
Take Ladysmith / Bergville off-ramp (Turn-off 230)
Turn Right towards Ladysmith (N11)
At T-junction, turn left
At next T-junction, turn right into Harrismith Rd.
Once you enter the town, turn left the first traffic light into Frances Rd.
At the first traffic light, turn right into Farquhar Rd.
At the 4-way stop turn left into Convent Rd..
After about 350 metres, look for the Boer en Brit signs on your left.
From Colenso (Turn-off 194 from N3 North ? Toll saver route)
Follow R74 to Colenso
Do not follow the R74 into Colenso, go straight onto R103 towards Ladysmith
At T-junction just outside Ladysmith, turn right into Harrismith Rd.
Once you enter the town, turn left the first traffic light into Frances Rd.
At the first traffic light, turn right into Farquhar Rd.
At the 4-way stop turn left into Convent Rd..

From Newcastle
Follow N11 towards Ladysmith
At second traffic light in Ladysmith, turn right into Alfred (which becomes Egerton Rd.)
At Second traffic light, turn left into slipway into Convent Rd.
Approximately 50m further, you will find Boer en Brit on your right.
