Bitou River Lodge - Each spacious, tranquil bedroom has its own private entrance and its own patio for enjoying sunsets and river views. The rooms are all en-suite, with a bath and shower. Two rooms have twin beds and three have king-sized beds. Each room has its own kitchenette & barbecue grill; underfloor heating & overhead fan; TV & hair dryer.
In Room Facilities:
Each room has an overhead fan and underfloor heating as well as a TV with cable. There’s a seating area with a couch, as well as a work counter with a stool. The guest lounge has comfy sofas and a library of books to borrow, as well as puzzles, games, cards, chess and solitaire. In winter, underfloor heating and a log fire make it a cosy place to sit and read. The breakfast room opens out onto a veranda with views of the garden & river. During summer the scent of honeysuckle drifts in to mingle with the smell of fresh coffee, while in winter the underfloor heating & the log fire keep guests warm & cosy. Birds & sometimes also otters can be seen at breakfast time.

The Lodge canoes are free to use & are available to guests any time. There’s a swimming pool with umbrellas, pool loungers & pool towels. Bring your own binoculars & use our bird books along the Bird Trail, or bird watch from your patio or from the guest veranda with your cup of coffee.
Golf courses, horse-riding, game drives, beaches, restaurants & shops just a ten-minute drive away. Elephants, monkeys, birds, forest walks, mountain-bike trails, bungee-jumping & Robberg Nature Reserve all in the area. Really good restaurants and quirky shops are just a ten minute drive away.
Sea & River - join a dolphin & whale-watching boat trip with Ocean Blue Adventures or Ocean Safaris, try sea kayaking, go diving from the Beacon Island Hotel, take a fishing charter out to sea, go on a Keurbooms River ferry trip, go hiking on Robberg Nature Reserve or at Nature’s Valley, hike to the suspension bridge over Storms River at the Tsitsikamma National Park, go swimming or surfing at one of Plettenberg Bay’s beautiful beaches. Animals - feed & walk with the elephants at the Elephant Sanctuary, enjoy the monkeys at Monkeyland & the birds at Birds of Eden; see wild animals on horseback or on a game drive at Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve, or visit African wild cats at Tenikwa, experience raptors at The Heath. There are lots of places to go bird-watching. Adrenaline - go sky-diving, do a bungy jump from the Bloukranz bridge, highest in the world, try abseiling, visit the supertube at Wild Waters.
