Belvidere Manor built in 1849 was originally a farm but fell into decline in the 1960’s. As Knysna started turning from a little coastal village in to a tourist town the farm was bought and restored. It is now a delightfully tranquil estate, echoing the architecture of Belvidere House, and over 170 bird species have been identified. Our picturesque self-catering cottages and 3 well-appointed hotel rooms are situated in the grounds of the original Manor house. The cottages are single and double story, one-, two- and three-bedroom freestanding cottages, offering garden or lagoon views. There is an on-site restaurant and a range of delicious dining experiences nearby. The natural beauty of the surroundings is unrivalled. The historic Manor House where breakfast is served and guests can enjoy the sunny patios and tranquil views, is a beautiful example of Cape Georgian architecture, and the quaint on-site pub, the Bell Tavern, is a restored farm building. The Manor House, tavern and cottages are surrounded by two hectares of landscaped gardens set within the secluded Belvidere Estate (an area in Knysna). From the terrace of the Manor House, there are breath-taking views across the lawns and swimming pool of the lagoon.

From George Airport: 1. Head northwest from George Airport and keep right after 13 meters. Turn right toward R404 and continue for 100 meters. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto R404 and continue for 2.4 km. 2. Turn left to merge onto N2 and continue for 400 meters. Stay on N2 and continue for 46 minutes (60.3 km). Merge onto N2 for 11.2 km. 3. Take the exit toward N2 and drive for 1.2 km. Continue on N2 for 47.9 km. Take the exit for Phantom Pass Rd to your destination in Belvidere Estate, Knysna (about 5 minutes, 2.9 km). 4. Turn left onto Phantom Pass Rd and continue for 77 meters. Turn right and continue for 1.7 km. Turn left onto Duthie Dr and continue for 250 meters. 5. Turn right onto Lower Duthie Dr and drive for 750 meters. Turn right and drive for 11 meters. Turn left and drive for 22 meters. Finally, turn right onto a restricted usage road, and your destination will be on the right.
