Located at the foot of Table Mountain, Ashanti Lodge Gardens is your gateway to Cape Town. Well-known for our superb facilities, outstanding service and excellent security, Ashanti Lodge Gardens is the fun, friendly, effortless way to discover the Cape - and more!
Within walking distance of the city centre and close to Cape Town`s magnificent beaches, we cater for all accommodation needs from camping and backpacker dorms to private, en-suite rooms in our guesthouse around the corner. We`ve recently refurbished our gorgeous Victorian mansion, so as well as clean, comfortable rooms you`ll also find a number of handy innovations like individual reading lights, personal safes and international plug points.
Chill out next to our sparkling pool, in our landscaped gardens or on any of our spacious balconies and palm-fringed sundecks, or join the party in our legendary Kumasi Bar with its cool cocktails and fabulous mountain views. Our giant TV shows all the major sporting events, or set up your own match over our pool table. You can also get delicious meals in our bar, or you can cater for yourself in our well-equipped communal kitchen.
We`ll help you plan your next adventure; whether it`s overland, under water or beyond the border. From cross-country safaris to day tours, including hiring cars and booking accommodation, we have dedicated Travel Centre staff to ensure you get the best from your trip, no matter where you`re going in Southern Africa.

We have 6 or 8-bed dormitories as well as private rooms with shared bathroom facilities. All our en-suite rooms are listed under Ashanti Gardens Guesthouses.
3 or 4 designer bunks sleeping 6 to 8 persons. All beds with lockers, fluffy white duvets, extra blankets and individual reading lights. Wash-basin and a digital safe per person complete these luxury dormitories.
Most of these rooms are around our swimming pool - perfect for an early morning wake up dip. All rooms have their own basins and there are sufficient nearby bathrooms for your use. A double is equipped with a double bed and a twin room has two single beds
Our most popular room type, these 6-bedded dorms have all the facilities we are famous for: under-bed lockers, digital safes, personal reading lights and a basin in the room to free up the bathrooms. The bathroom is shared.

This is the only en-suite room we have in this building and it is nestled away in our tranquil garden under the palm trees. It has full service satellite TV, strong Wi-Fi and tea/making facilities besides the en-suite shower room
Most of the twins are also around the pool and these rooms have 2 single beds so are best suited for those who are not cuddling up at night.
When driving from the Cape Town airport or coming from the Garden Route, just continue along the N2 towards Cape Town city centre. Please make sure you follow directions to Cape Town as we have had newcomers go in the wrong direction.
Continue on the N2 for about 10 minutes and as you come up to the mountain keep right and continue towards the city - following the signs. Take the De Waal Drive turn-off to the left when the road forks and continue driving around the mountain.
Just off De Waal Drive you need to take the Mill Street turn-off. This will take you past a large shopping centre (Gardens Centre) on your left hand side and then you drive through two sets of traffic lights.
The next road left (after the second set of lights at Upper Orange Street) is Hof St. It is just before the Mount Nelson hotel, so if you see that you know you have gone too far. We are two blocks up on the left hand side a large yellow building.
