African Game Lodge is a vast Private Reserve with spectacular mountainous scenery, stocked with a variety antelope species, which can be enjoyed by taking a game drive, hiking or MTB trails to really relax and enjoy nature at its best.
All accommodation, whether a thatched roof chalet or luxury safari tent, offers comfortable bedding (double bed; and two single beds if it’s a two-bedroom chalet), bathroom, comfortable lounge and kitchenette with crockery, cutlery, gas stove and fridge/freezer. Linen, towels, amenities and refreshments are provided. Outside barbecue facilities to enjoy the clean Karoo air. In the evening, spend time on your verandah with wonderful views over a large plain and mountains or join us for a sundowner at the lodge where guests gravitate when the sun goes down.

The reserve is close to Montagu, a popular getaway town in the Cape Winelands area, amidst vines and fruit orchards with spectacular mountain scenery. It is also on the popular Route 62.

Clothing and Accessories:
- Closed hiking shoes are recommended if you are going to do hiking, bird spotting or nature trails. - Sunglasses, hat or cap and sun protection cream are essential. - Mosquito cream. - Towels for swimming are provided.
Health and Climate:
The reserve is in a malaria free area. In summer we can have very hot days, so it is essential to take water with you when you go walking, and to wear a hat.

Cancellation Policy:
- Cancellations are only accepted in writing. - A 50% cancellation fee will be levied if the cancellation is done within 21 days of the arrival date. - African Game Lodge reserves the right to charge a R100 administration fee on all cancellations.
Directions:
From Cape Town to African Game Lodge, Montagu - Follow the N1 through to Worcester from Cape Town - Turn right at the Worcester/Robertson turnoff - Turn left onto the R60 to Robertson and throught to Ashton - Continue straight which will become the R 62 to Montagu - In Montagu continue straight on Long Street towards Barrydale. - approximately 1Km outside of the town you will see a signboard indicating to turn left onto Talana Road for African Game Lodge. - Travel for approximately 1km till you reach the next signboard. Turn left here where you will start on a dirt road, called Ouberg Pad. - Continue for approximately 16km, until you reach a sign for Driekuilshoogte Pad- Turn right here at the African Game Lodge Sign. - Continue on Driekuilshoogte Pad for an estimated 10km to the gate of African Game Lodge - Travel through the gate and continue on the road for approximately 3km which will lead you to the reception.
As there is no cell phone reception during the last stages of your drive, kindly contact us when leaving Montagu, so that, should you take an extremely long time to get to African Game Lodge, we can meet you en route and offer any necessary assistance.
The gate is not automatic so please kindly manually open and close gate behind you.
