Aan de Oever, part of Aan de Leisure Collection, meaning on the river bank, is a house built in the Cape Dutch style, like many others in historic Swellendam, the third oldest town in South Africa.

Awarded Four star grading, by TGCSA, Aan de Oever has exquisite accommodation in thirteen elegantly furnished bedrooms and suits, each with its own bathroom and private entrance. We have wonderful family and group options, including a few Self-Catering Cottages here in Swellendam.
During your stay, enjoy our swimming pool, deck and braai area with a sundowner in hand for golden hour, cheers-ing to the setting sun! We have an excellent selection of local wines form the Robertson Valley vineyards, our choice of beer, cider and a few soft drinks, just chat to our Aandeawesome team who are always ready with a big smile to assist you. You may prefer to sit in our garden, listening to the Koornlands River bubbling by and listen to the many species of birds that frequent our garden. We are within walking distance of the museum, restaurants, art galleries and shops and we can provide you with all the information about actives in and around Swellendam. Swellendam is situated on the Garden Route, half way between Cape Town and George. It is thirty minutes drive to the well known Route 62 and roughly an hours drive to Cape Agulhas, the most Southern tip of Africa. The De Hoop Nature Reserve is about an hour and a halfs drive, a wonderful place for a day trip. The Robertson Wine Route is only half an hour away via Bonnievale.

Budget / Travelers Deal (4 Options) Blue Crane, Hadida, Tinktinkie And Robin
One King and three Queen bed bedrooms.
Queen bedrooms can only sleep two people, these are not large bedrooms and we cannot add extra beds or cots for infants. Only our Hadida Bedroom has a King size bed with the option to split into TWIN (two single) beds and we can add a cot in this room.
Blue Crane and Hadida have bathrooms with separate baths and showers and Tinktinkie and Robin have showers only. Our Blue Crane and Hadida rooms face a quiet street, Robin is a lovely private room, tucked around the back with a courtyard view, whereas Tinktinkie, our smallest room, has a garden and mountain view.
All our rooms have most modern comforts including air-conditioning TV, DSTV, Wi-Fi, honesty bar and coffee / tea making facilities.
Standard / Semi-Luxury (4 Options) Kingfisher, Sunbird, Hamerkop And Nightjar
All four these bedrooms have King size beds with the option to split into TWIN (two single) beds if pre-arranged.
Kingfisher and Sunbird sleep two people only, we can however add a cot for an infant if arranged.
Hamerkop and Nightjar have enough space to add an extra single bed or bed for a young adult, child or infant.
Our Kingfisher bedroom is the only one of these four bedrooms that has a bathroom with a separate bath and shower. Sunbird, Hamerkop and Nightjar have showers only.
Kingfisher and Sunbird have outside sitting areas from where you can enjoy the garden, Langeberg Mountain and our swimming pool view. Nightjar and Hamerkop have sitting areas with courtyard views.

Luxury / Leisure (5 Options) Barn Owl, Bokmakierie, Guinea Fowl, Fish Eagle And Aan De Spruit
Our Barn Owl and Bokmakierie bedrooms, both on the upper level of our Cape Dutch style house, with private stair access. They have King size beds and open plan bathrooms boasting sleek, deep and spacious baths with separate shower.
The beds can be converted into TWIN (two single) beds if pre-arranged. These rooms have open plan bathrooms therefore perfect for a honeymoon couple, romantic getaway or just a couples weekend break. We would recommend you spend at least two nights.
Our Guinea Fowl, Fish Eagle and Aan de Spruit bedrooms are spacious, have spectacular views and perfect for couples or friends traveling.
The Fish Eagle and Aan de Spruit bedrooms have shower only bathrooms, whereas Guinea Fowl has a large corner bath and large shower. These five bedrooms have large balconies & outside seating areas overlooking our beautiful garden, the Langeberg Mountains as well as our swimming pool and deck area. All our rooms have most modern comforts including air-conditioning TV, DSTV, Wi-Fi, honesty bar and coffee / tea making facilities.
Family Room Options (3 Options) Guinea Fowl, Fish Eagle And Aan De Spruit
All three these bedrooms are spacious and can sleep from two and up to five people.
Our Guinea Fowl bedroom is the only one of the three with a large corner bath and large shower, the other two rooms have shower only bathrooms.
Our Fish Eagle bedroom is on the ground & upper level of the house. There are two King size beds upstairs, two bathrooms and a sleeper couch on the ground floor. It has a small kitchen, living room area, patio and BBQ facilities. It can therefore also be used for Self-Catering if requested.
Aan de Spruit, on the ground & upper of our property right next to Aan de Oever, It has one King size bed & one single bed on the ground floor. This is an open plan bedroom, dining room & living room so ideal for a family. It has a small kitchen, living room area, patio and BBQ facilities. It can therefore also be used for Self-Catering if requested.
Arrange with us if you need extra beds & which bedroom is better suited depending on the amount of people. All these beds can be converted into TWIN (two single) beds if pre-arranged.

From Cape Town on the N2 pass Swellendam West, carry on and take the turn-off Swellendam East, to the left. Drive into town, and second street, Faure Street, turn right and follow the road to Aan de Oever.
From Mossel Bay, take the Swellendam East turn-off, right, into town and turn second street, Faure street, Right. From R60, Ashton, turn left at the 4-Stop, Voortrekker Road. 3,7km to Aan de Oever, pass the Big White Church, turn slightly to your right, over the bridge, first street Left, Faurestreet.
