A Villa de Mer Guest House is located on the beachfront in Port Alfred and is a mere 10 min walk from the Kowie River mouth and restaurants. Situated exactly half way between Port Elizabeth and East London, 150 km in each direction, Port Alfred is the perfect stopover place or base from where to explore the surrounding area.

Malaria free Addo Elephant park is a mere 100 km away, whilst the Sibuya Game Reserve is within 27 km. The vibrant town Grahamstown, is a 45 min drive away, whilst the historical town of Bathurst is just up the road. One of our great assets, the 43 Air School is 10 min outside town whilst the Stenden university is a stones throw from A Villa de Mer, known to the family of the students, as home. Whilst Port Alfred is a small town, we boast with a modern shopping centre just outside town.

We are very fortunate to have the best of two worlds situated on the coast, in close proximity to many game reserves, all the modern amenities yet we experience the peace and quiet of a village atmosphere!

A Villa de Mer Guest House is a modern and stylish Mediterranean guest house and wraps around the pool and garden/barbecue area. Guests can relax in the communal lounge upstairs with large television, or sit out on the balcony, have a drink and enjoy the view over the Indian ocean. Those guests who prefer to curl up with a book, there is a large reading room downstairs overlooking the pool. For the more active guests, there are endless white beaches and dunes to walk. For golf enthusiasts, the Royal Port Alfred Golf course is a 5 minute drive away whilst the Fish River Sun Golf course is a few kilometres outside town.

The bright rooms are fitted with a 19 channel DSTV satellite service, coffee/tea facilities, a refrigerator, a safe. The bathroom is equipped with a hairdryer, bathrobes, swimming towels and guest amenities.

Our Deluxe rooms come with either King size or queen size beds. The rooms are elegant and comfortably furnished. Each room has a console with coffee/tea facilities, a desk, safe, fridge, a flat screen television with 19 DStv channels. The bathrooms are modern and are fitted with illuminated mirrors, make-up mirror, hairdryer, bathrobes and personalized bathroom amenities.

Our Luxury Standard rooms consists of King size beds that can be converted into two single beds. Although the size of the rooms differ,these rooms are equipped with the same high standard as that of the other rooms.
