Along the River of Chiefs the Umzimkulu River, Owner Mike Pieterse, lovingly designed and handcrafted the Manor - using Pin Oak, Cypress and Kiaat timber sourced from thesurrounding forests. The unique combination of traditional, contemporary and comfortable features, include spacious rooms, intimate dinning, cosy bar with fireplace for those colder mountain nights and a gallery library for lazy days. Malachite Manor is a place in which you can truly kick back in style.
The 6 tastefully decorated rooms are designed to cater for all your needs. Each individually designed to create a relaxing, tranquil space for our guests. All are situated in the main lodge building, with terraces from which to enjoy the beautiful backdrop of mountain views and landscaped gardens.
Our Guests can enjoy scrumptious breakfasts and intimate a la Carte dinners in the Manor, or take a minutes stroll down the garden path to Speakeasy, Boma, Bar and Grill which is situated next to one of our beautiful dams. Speakeasy offers a stylish country atmosphere, and has become a favourite amongst the locals for its good food and company. It also is the perfect venue for your next function.
Malachite Manor is surrounded by a wonderful array of activities for you to experience during your stay. Hiking, birding, canoeing, horse-riding, fishing and cycling are just a few ways to experience and appreciate the areas abundance of natural beauty. The Legendary Sani Pass is within close proximity, boasting the highest pub in Africa at 3000 m once you reach the top. An exhilarating drive whether in your own 4x4 vehicle or taken as a day trip with one of our local tour operators.

Accommodation at Malachite Manor:
We have 6 luxury en-suite double rooms. Rates are bed and breakfast. All the rooms have a separate bathtub and shower as well as an outside patio in a garden setting.

Tours up the Sani Pass - please note passports essential. Other activities include birding, hiking, mountain climbing, golfing, horse riding, canoeing and fishing. Wedding and Conference facilities available on request.

- We require a 50% deposit to confirm your booking. The outstanding balance is payable 21 days before arrival
- Cancellations over 21 days before the visit forfeit 0% of the total booking.
- Cancellations less than 21 days before the visit forfeit 100% of the total booking amount
- For non-arrival/no-show/premature departure 100% of the total booking quoted is payable.
- Only children over the age of 13 years are permitted.
Please note that all cancellations will be refunded according to our cancellation policy, minus any relevant administrative or bank charges.
