Nestled in the Winterhoek Mountains of the Eastern Cape, Haaspoort Bushcamp Private Nature reserve captures the serenity and beauty of the Karoo.
The Bushcamp is situated on a 2000-hectare malaria-free private nature reserve, home to a large variety of wildlife and rare flora.
The four private thatched en-suite chalets complete with timber decks overlooking the river, offer you all the privacy and comfort you need for a relaxing African safari.
Accommodation can either be on a self-catering or dinner bed and breakfast basis.
Enjoy a sunset game drive into the mountains with sweeping views of the surrounding area, go wild or be guided on one of the reserves many hiking / mountain-biking trails. The reserve has and abundance of wildlife and rare fauna. Suzie, the reserve`s tame Serval frequently visits guests in the evening.
Situated 17km off the R75 half-way between Port Elizabeth and Graaff-Reinet. Haaspoort Bushcamp is also an ideal stop over or getaway for guests travelling to and from Oudshoorn and Addo.Accommodation
All chalets are equipped with en-suite bathrooms, ceiling fans, heaters and tea/coffee facilities. The family and honeymoon suites have full bathrooms and outside showers.
Each chalet is individually decorated, with twin or king size beds made up in 100% percale linen.
Guests can enjoy an authentic bush dinner at the open lapa alongside the glowing embers of a real bush hearth. A generous brunch is served on the swimming pool deck and in true Karoo hospitality will leave our guests recharged for the day.
Self caterers make use of a large kitchen complete with separate facilities for each chalet. Each kitchenette has everything you need for a convenient self catering getaway.
Private braai areas are located at each chalet.
The swimming pool is privately located near the lapa, complete with umbrella and comfortable pool loungers.

All hiking, mountain biking, self drive routes and 4x4 trails are marked with maps and interesting information available on each route.
Guided day and night drives are available - plains game that can be seen include kudu, hartebeest, klipspringer, impala, blesbok, mountain reedbuck, springbok and various other smaller animals.
Caracal, aardvark, porcupine are often seen on sunset and night drives.
Take pleasure in stargazing under the clear Karoo skies in twin hammocks at the bushcamp. The reserve is a birders' paradise with over 100 species recorded including a nesting pair of black eagles.
Haaspoort is home to a large variety of rare plants, succulents such as the prehistoric "Elephant's Foot" and cycads. Bushwalks are popular, as your hosts will introduce you to the rare and beautiful flora and fauna of the Karoo.
The legendary "Zeekoeigat", a natural waterhole in a valley on the reserve, is the perfect place to cool off after an exhilarating hike.
Haaspoort is in close proximity to the Greater Addo Elephant Park, the Baviaanskloof World Heritage Site and the historical town of Graaff-Reinet.
