Accommodation at Acorn Guest House:
We are within walking distance to excellent restaurants. The rooms are decorated with flair and style, each with its own DSTV decoder for satellite television, complimentary sherry and fresh flowers. Parking is secure behind a wall. Different rooms are available, inclusive of breakfast and all taxes.
Our standard rooms are situated inside the house and all rooms have an en-suite bathroom with bar fridge and microwave. The superior rooms are outside the house with private entrances and a balcony/patio that walk out to the pool area with views of the Outeniqua mountains. These rooms are spacious, with king-size beds (which can be converted to twins), self-catering facilities, air-conditioners, spa-baths and showers, heated bathroom floors and electrical towel rails. A honeymoon and wheelchair friendly room is available.
Attractions and Tours:
George is quite central in the Southern Cape, an excellent choice to use as your home while playing golf or traveling to all the local tourist destinations in Knysna or Mossel Bay. All these towns are just 45 minutes away. From here you can explore the scenic beaches, majestic mountains and lakes, do some whale watching, shark cage diving, paragliding and spend a holiday of a lifetime at our home! Colin, a friendly easy going person, is also a registered tour operator and can assist you in your day trips and bookings - whether it is self drive or guided tours.
Golf:
The Garden Route is famous for all the excellent golf courses. George Golf Course is rated as one of the top courses in South Africa and because of our excellent weather conditions; this stunning green course is playable all year round. During our winter months we can book 5 courses in our area for half price! Please ask us.
CANCELLATIONS:
In the event of a cancellation, the
following cancellation fee shall apply to your booking:
· Less than 30 days but more than 15 days
prior to the date of arrival: 25% of the full amount payable.
· Less than 15 days but more than 7 days prior
to the date of arrival: 50% of the full amount payable.
· Less than 7 days prior to arrival: 100% of
the full amount payable.
· Please note that written confirmation is
required for all cancellations.
Breakfast
Information:
· Breakfast is served daily in the conference
room on the ground floor.
· Breakfast hours: 07:00 AM – 09:00 AM on
weekdays and 07:30 AM – 09:00 AM during public holidays and weekends (Saturdays
& Sundays).
· If you have any special dietary
requirements, please inform us in advance. We can also arrange breakfast packs
with prior notice.
Room Service and
House Rules:
· Rooms are serviced daily on weekdays.
· Guests are kindly requested to wash their
own dishes as this service is not included.
· Please be considerate of other guests. We
maintain a NO NOISE policy from 8:00 PM during the week and 9:00 PM on
weekends.
· Smoking is strictly prohibited in rooms and
indoor areas. A cleaning fee of R500.00 will be charged for rooms with a smoke
odor. Smoking is allowed outside, and ashtrays are provided on the
patio/balcony. Please close the door to prevent smoke from entering the room.
· No visitors are allowed in the rooms.
From the west on the N2, take the George, York Street exit. Turn left at the stop to drive into town (will become York. Str) Approx. 5km through the town you will drive around the second traffic circle, turn right or follow the sign to Knysna via Courtenay Street. Immediately after the first traffic light at Meade Street, you will pass the White Dutch Reformed Church on your left. Turn left at next street Kerk Street. We are only 100m down the road on the right 4 Kerk Street.

From the airport, turn left out of the parking area and follow the sign post to (right) George via Route R102. After approx. 7km you will enter George via a traffic circle, take the first left exit into York Street. 3.5km through the town you will drive around a second traffic circle, turn right or follow the sign to Knysna via Courtenay Street. Immediately after the first traffic light at Meade Street, you will pass the White Dutch Reformed Church on your left. Turn left at next street Kerk Street. We are only100m down the road on the right 4 Kerk Street.
From Oudtshoorn you will continue on the road from the mountain and at the traffic circle by the sport pavillions you will exit immediately to the left Knysna Road. Keep to the left lane when entering the circle and take first exit, Courtenay Street. You will pass a traffic light at Meade Street, with the White Dutch Reformed Church on left. Turn left at next street Kerk Street. We are only 100m down on the right 4 Kerk Street.

From the east on the N2, take the first George exit to the right of the highway. After approx. 5km once you are in town, you will go over the rail road via a bridge, after it, you will pass Mitchell and Wellington Street on your right. The next street is Kerk Street. Turn right big Dutch Reformed Church will now be on your left. We are only 100m down the road, on the right 4 Kerk Street.
