The Hohenstein Lodge is located on the south-western edge of the Erongo Mountains at the foot of the huge Hohenstein Massif (mountain range), about 25 km north of Usakos on the road D 1935.
It is the closest Lodge to the famous Spitzkoppe mountains.
The area of the Hohenstein Lodge is without doubt one of the most impressive landscapes of the country. The lodge is named after the highest mountain of the Erongo mountain chain, the Hohenstein and is situated at the foot of this mountain.
All the bungalows as well as the restaurant at Hohenstein share the same breathtaking view of Spitzkoppe, the 1,469 meter tall Mount Kainachab and Hohenstein (2,319 meter across a wide valley dotted with ancient Camel thorn trees.
In the evenings, Hohenstein is aglow in the warm red light of the beautiful sunsets.
If the lengths of your stay permits, you can take day trips to Spitzkoppe and Brandberg, engage in game or bird-watching, or go on hiking trips. The view from the peak of Kainachab is indescribable - you simply have to experience it yourself.

Another unforgettable experience is having dinner on our spacious patio while watching a variety of wild life pass by on their way to the watering hole. Throughout the day, the watering hole attracts numerous birds. Make sure not to forget your binoculars.
