Lovely location, friendly staff and overall pleasant. We stayed here 9 years ago and had a lovely family holiday, unfortunately the resort does not look like it has had any upgrades in that time. The rooms really could do with renovations, paint, upgrade furniture, showers, and flat screen TV.

I had an enjoyable stay at Didima, hoping to come back. As I booked the self service chalet I was hoping that there would be sufficient cooking utensils but to my surprise it was just a pot and a frying pan, other than that I've just enjoyed.

I really liked the chalets except that your furniture for lounge is little bit outdated. TV very small for my liking. Breakfast was great. Neatness and hospitality were tops. Ambiance in the restaurant was beautiful. The SPA was very good but I like white towels and not those colorful towels the SPA uses. Hiking was super great. Had the best time with you and will definitely recommend the place.

The setting and the views are fantastic and it is really a hikers paradise. The staff were friendly and the room clean and comfortable (though refreshment is needed). The restaurant has a small menu but the food was good. What bothered was eg. the broken path lights, the stepping stones that was overturned (by the baboons?)and not fixed, and a signboard (indicating Rainbow Gorge and Doreen Falls)of which only broken poles were left. However, I will come back for the hikes and the magic of the Drakensberg.

Nice accommodation but a few things were missing in the kitchen (like pot to boil pasta or chopping board) and in a chalet of 6 beds there is no table with six chair to sit down for eating together.

In fact eating area is poorly design. Lower than standard bar table with high bar chairs are the worst set up for eating. You need to crouch over the table. Bar chairs are designed for proper bar height tables i.e. over 1.1m!

Our only and biggest problem was the restaurant. We asked at reception how much it costs per head. They didn't know, we looked at the menu, where it said at the bottom R68 per person. So we booked.

When the bill came, it was R160 per person. The chef argued that it is a standard price and that everyone knows that it is always R160 per person. The R68 at the bottom of the menu were apparently for vegetarians only. Note that there were no other prices on the menu except for the R68 which made it very misleading. The chef also told us we should have booked directly through them and not at reception, while reception told us we can book through them.
The braai dinner was good, but was not worth R160 at all. It was not the best I've ever had and choices were quite limited.
The rest of the holiday was great!

Restaurant not up to standard. Had to wait 25 minutes for coffee and coke. Gave up and cancelled the order.
