The one thing that I was very unhappy about is that I paid for accommodation (or day entrance), and then I'm still expected to pay for 90% of the activities that the resort offers.
I stayed at the hotel and when I wanted to go swimming I had to worry about how to carry money (a costume does not have pockets), what do I do with it when I go swimming (I either had to leave everything unattended and risk that it may get stolen or I don't take part in any activity so that I can ensure that all my belonging are safe), etc.
The cost of all activities should be covered in entrance cost.
Although the rooms had air conditioning there was only one remote to be shared between the 3 rooms we had booked. That truly wasn't good enough.
The food was very good, in fact it was the best buffet in our 9 day tour.
This resort had been recommended to us and we had driven out of our way to get to Badplaas, so it was a bit of a disappointment.
Other parts of the hotel were good and the resort itself was fabulous. Staff very friendly and deserved the 15% tips and yes I would recommend the resort, but I would have to tell people not to expect too much in the bedroom.
The Log cabin we stayed was very poorly maintained. The bathroom ceiling was falling apart and need some attention. The outside is very nice but no maintenance is done inside. The Braai area also need some upgrading.
The outdoor pools was OK. We were also very disappointed that most of the activities we had to pay for. We will not return to the resort, and I will not suggest it to my friends as a place to stay. We would suggest a major maintenance and upgrading on the whole site.
