The most common whales species in the African waters, are the Humpback and the Southern Right whale and can be seen from September usually up to the end of November; but often during December as well.<\/p>\n<p>The Cape Peninsula offers several good whale watching spots (don\u2019t forget your binoculars).<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_127\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.places.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Image2.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-127\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-127\" src=\"http:\/\/www.places.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Image2.jpg\" alt=\"Whales\" width=\"300\" height=\"211\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-127\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Southern Right Whale<\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.places.co.za\/html\/cape_point.html\" target=\"_blank\">Cape Point<\/a> is the southern most tip of the Cape Peninsula, and positioned on the whales migration route. You can spot whales while relaxing and enjoying the spectacular views from the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve or go out on the ocean by boat.<\/p>\n<p>Between Fish Hoek and Simon\u2019s Town the whales come every year to the stretches of kelp and rocks to give birth to their calves and to remove the barnacles they have accumulated. This place is easily accessible and a beautiful coastal drive.<\/p>\n<p>The spectacular Chapman\u2019s Peak Drive presents an elevated view of the entire Hout Bay area.
