The primary objective of the Project is to inspire the next generation to pursue careers in science, engineering, technology and maths – by demonstrating how they can be harnessed to achieve the seemingly impossible, such as the BLOODHOUND<\/a> 1600 kph (1,000 mph) land speed record.<\/p>\n

The aim is to get the jet and rocket powered car to streak across the Hakskeen Pan, Northern Cape, South Africa in 2013.<\/p>\n

Bloodhound Super Sonic Car<\/p><\/div>\n

Andy Green, the driver (and current worlds fastest man) is currently visiting South Africa will be making a series of presentations on the prestigious SAIMechE \u201cJohn Orr Memorial Lecture tour\u201d.<\/p>\n

Green will travel the country, from Hakskeen Pan to Cape Town, sharing his record breaking experiences and telling audiences about his new adventure. The tour is organise \u00a0by The South African Institution of Mechanical Engineering (SAIMechE).<\/p>\n
