Pop the kettle on in the morning and step into the fresh air of the Ubizane Reserve - you may even be lucky enough to see a kudu springing by.

If comfort is what youre after, as well as beautiful scenery, then our tree lodges are perfect for you. Each room has been carefully laid out with an en-suite bathroom with shower, a dressing room, air-conditioning and mosquito nets for your comfort on those warmer nights, coffee/tea facilities and a bar fridge.

We run a laundry service at an extra cost to you, so if you are staying for a lengthy period and would like some clothes washed, please dont hesitate to ask.

If all of the above is not enough to convince you, our delicious pan-African cuisine will. Dinner is carefully prepared every night by our in-house chefs, in true African style and taste. Tease your palate with multiple flavors and textures that are true to Africa and all her variety.

Zululand Tree Lodge Swimming Pool:
With the very recent droughts that South Africa has faced and even more so in Zululand, we are extremely mindful of the amount of water that we as citizens of Zululand and of South Africa as a whole, use on a daily basis. It is because of this that we recently closed down the Tree Lodge swimming pool to limit our water usage.

Besides this, we have found that a lot of visitors would prefer to use the larger pool at the Safari Lodge for more privacy and relaxation. In place of the swimming pool, we have a created a fun, family area for relaxing and ultimate sun soaking. You will find tables, chairs and umbrellas to keep you cosy - why not pack a picnic with the family and enjoy the view. If swimming is what you are after, you can take an easy 500 meter stroll across to the Safari Lodge, where you will find a lovely big pool for your pleasure, together with a spacious lounge area to sit and watch some telly - or even better, gaze out at the beauty that is Ubizane Nature Reserve.

Morning Game Drives at iMfolozi National Park
South Africa is known for its majestic wildlife and lavish landscapes - it's what gives this land the unique charm that it has. One of the most amazing ways to experience this African beauty is to take a guided game drive tour through the lands that tell of this rich heritage and magnificent grandeur.

There is over 30,000 hectares of land to be explored within the iMfolozi Game Reserve, all of which is teeming with wildlife such as giraffe, zebra, impala and a multitude of birds, from the little weaver to the great eagles of the sky. One of the main attractions is the fact that iMfolozi is home to the BIG 5 and home to one of the largest rhino populations on earth. If you are lucky enough, you will spot all 5 of these glorious animals on your drive. Search carefully in between the rustling of the tall grass for a pride of lion, or search the branches for a lazing leopard. If youre quiet enough you may see some wildebeest drinking at the waterhole or an elephant's trunk stretching up into the leaves - you may even get stopped by a rhino in your path - if you do, you will have experienced some of South Africas most treasured animals.

The reserve never disappoints - you are always sure to see some spectacular animals that will get your cameras clicking and your hearts racing.

Our qualified field guides are excellent at what they do and passionate about the Reserve and all it animals, so they will endeavour to give you an informed and exciting game drive - one that you wont forget.

The Reserve is one of the oldest reserves in South Africa and the third largest - we take care of our environment and the animals that dwell in it, by being conscious of whats happening in the world and taking measures to make our reserve a safe and happy environment for all species.

Self-Drives at Hluhluwe-Umfolozi
Take a leisurely guided drive around our beautiful game reserve or venture into the Hluhluwe iMfolozi National Park, a mere 10 minutes from us. A self drive allows you to take your time around the reserve and have the freedom to explore without a group of people and a tour guide. Both reserves have so much to see in terms of wildlife and scenery, you are sure to spot something incredible!

The gates to our reserve open at 6 am and close at 6 pm in the winter months, and during summer from 5 am to 7 pm, so there is plenty of time to explore and go wild. You may even be lucky enough to spot the BIG 5!

Great staff-friendly and helpful
Delicious food
Comfortable room
Lots of thought and little extras added
Just unfortunate that you can hear the traffic. From safari lodge and see rural areas instead of bush
But had a great time
Also very nice for little ones

The accommodation was lovely, however, the evening meals were extremely poor with certain meat dishes so tough they could not be eaten. The game ranger was the worst I've had in at least 20 such trips to various game lodges. For the price paid I consider the stay to have been relatively poor value for money and was sorry that overseas guests had to experience this. Rooms have single ply toilet paper and there was no butter on the tables - only margarine.

Will be excellent once the upgrade has happened but otherwise a really super break. Staff are so happy and friendly and accommodating, animals right at our chalet window... More than met expectations.

We had a great time at the Tree Lodge. Staff was very friendly and gave us everything we asked for. A minor problem was solved by the manager without an unhappy face. Thanks and see you next year?
