(pronounced Keejera) lies on the aptly named Paradise Island, surrounded by deep channels and lush vegetation within a remote area of the productive Moremi Game Reserve. For much of the year this magnificent area epitomises the permanently flooded section of the Okavango Delta, with palm-filled islands, riverine forests, a multitude of clear water channels and expansive floodplains.

Accommodation at Xigera Camp - Classic Camp:
These camps are designed in traditional safari style and are mostly stylish canvas constructions, often raised off the ground on wooden decks. Located in exceptional wildlife and wilderness areas, all offer superb facilities and accommodation. The camps range in size from 3 to 12 tents.
There are nine raised luxury tents with en-suite facilities, an outdoor shower – and superb views of the classic Okavango Delta floodplains that surround the camp. Meals and evening drinks are enjoyed in the lounge, bar and dining area overlooking a permanently flowing channel or under the stars in a traditional African boma. For those hot days there is a small plunge pool in which to cool off.
Wildlife at Xigera Camp:
Xigera is a true water camp: This is the land of the sitatunga antelope and Pel`s fishing-owl. Waterbirds are seen in large numbers including rufous-bellied heron and the secretive white-backed night-heron. Other special birds are greater swamp-warbler, coppery-tailed coucal and Luapula cisticola brown firefinch, swamp boubou, Hartlaub`s babbler and western banded snake-eagle. One may be surprised by the presence of lion, leopard, hyaena and buffalo as they wade and swim between islands in search of food.
Things to do at Xigera Camp:
Whilst the emphasis at Xigera is on water activities, making this the perfect ‘water camp,’ game drives are offered all year round.
