Tawni Safari Lodge Activities:

Game Drives - Early morning Game Drives departs while it is still cool in north bush veld and the animals awake from their resting places. While sipping a welcome cup of coffee, listening to the bush coming alive with birds and animals alike, as the sun pokes it head higher and higher into the beautiful African sky. Be on the lookout for beautiful birds and antelope moms bringing their young out of hiding.

Late afternoon Game Drives depart as the fierce heat of the day cools, the inhabitants of the bush become restless, and the animals move out of the shade of the trees. The Guinea fowl call reverberates through the bush veld, followed by the howl of the jackal. You will become aware of colors softening to the beautiful, gentle hues as the sky turns to the sensational vibrant reds, golds and oranges typical of Limpopo / Northern bush veld sunset. Evening scents fill the air as the sun dips behind the horizon. Here you can view over 25 different animal species and hundreds of bird species. Be part of different herds as they wander around in search of their favorite grazing areas.

Walking Trails - Experience true nature on foot, one on one with the wildlife. Tawni Safari Lodge has various walking trails where guest can experience truest nature in mans most primitive method of transport, walking.

The lion enclosure is situated within a few meters from the lodge itself, the perfect place to start the walking trail and meet out two male lions. From there you can continue the trail and at a slow pace, take in all the that surrounding nature has to offer. Get up close and personal with our variety of antelope, giraffes and their new born or big birds, the ostrich.

Tawni Safari Lodge also offers guests the experience to see breeds of antelope that normally would be near impossible to see in the wild. Among them are the black impala, king wildebeest and gold wildebeest.

Bird Watching - Our location, in the middle of Limpopo bush veld is perfect for the avid bird watcher.

The Limpopo Province offers vast tropical and diverse terrain with a wide range of bird species which include some of the rarest in the world. There are numerous sites that one can visit, but the most unusual species are found by those who travel off the beaten path.

The South African Tourism Agency crowned Limpopo as the haven for bird watchers. So rest assured, Tawni Safari Lodge plays host to a wide variety of bird species.

Lookout, viewpoint and Hides - As far as the eye can see. Tawni Safari Lodge has strategically placed all the lookouts, viewpoints and hides to ensure you see everything that the lodge has to offer.

We have also placed a lookout in the middle of the lodge itself which is a perfect place to get a 360 degree view around the lodge and see the wildlife. The best times to use it is early morning and late afternoon when all the animals come out of hiding from the hot African sun.

Bow and Rifle hunting - Tawni Safri Lodge can accommodate both rifle and bow hunters. With our abundant range of wildlife, Tawni is sure to please any hunter looking for his trophy kill or professional hunting experience.
