Taita Falcon Lodge
Taita Falcon Lodge is stunningly perched 230 m above the Zambezi River on the edge of the Batoka Gorge with a stunning view over the gorge and the river. The Lodge is only 11 km from the Victoria Falls, and is a unique bush experience. Owner managed, we focus is on providing personalized service to each individual client.

With only 7 chalets, the lodge offers an intimate stay or an exclusive venue to smaller groups. Each spacious chalet is en-suite with its own private garden and outdoor shower. The chalets are constructed of reed and stone with three quarter walls bringing the outside in. All creature comforts are catered for in their elegantly down to earth design. Chalets are individually prepared as double, twin, triple or family rooms.

The indigenous gardens are blended with bush zen sand gardens at the lodge entrance and chalet exteriors, and a green theme around the swimming pool. There is a boma where evening winter meals are hosted around an open fire.

The large viewing deck and adjacent lounge play host to meals and pre-dinner drinks in conjunction to providing expansive views downstream and miles beyond! Our meals are hearty Euro-African style cooking with healthy options prepared in conjunction.

We offer Self Drive, Full Board packages as well as fully inclusive tour packages incorporating visits to the Victoria Falls, cultural village tours, guided bush and bird walks, game drives and a sunset cruise. Any of the numerous activities in the region can easily be arranged by the Lodge. A paradise for birders, Taita also offers guided hiking trails in and around the Batoka Gorge.

An ideal beginning or ending to your African Safari spend a few days taking in the natural wonder of the Victoria Falls and the many adventure activities that the region has to offer!!

Accommodation at Taita Falcon Lodge:
Each chalet is en-suite, with mosquito nets on all the beds. The chalets are open plan and constructed of reed and stone and they all have their own private garden with cold showers in the garden. We use mosquito coils in the rooms during summer and hot water bottles in the beds during the colder months.

Of the 7 chalets, 2 can be made up to family rooms sleeping a maximum of 2 adults and 3 children (rooms are big and spacious). The remaining 5 chalets can be made up as either double, twin or triple rooms.

    Clothing & Accessories:

The atmosphere at Taita Falcon Lodge is casual and informal and normal safari resort clothing is both practical and acceptable.

Hats, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, walking shoes and appropriate clothing and shoes for activities such as white water rafting, abseiling and horse riding should be brought along. Binoculars are also advised. For white water rafting, shoes which are suitable for rock climbing but which can get wet and can be strapped securely to the foot are essential.

    Health & Climate:

We suggest that malaria prophylactics are taken at least one week prior to arrival and are continued for at least two weeks after their stay at the Lodge. A basic medical kit should always be carried in Africa. A doctor surgery is available in Livingstone and we are members of an immediate medi-vac scheme for all of our clients provided they have their own insurance.

During the summer months, cool clothing is essential, with long protective clothing for evenings. From May to August, it can be quite cold in the evenings and early mornings, so warmer clothing is advised.
