SunWa River Lodge
is situated on the banks of the Vaal River, 10 km outside Parys and 120 km south of Johannesburg.
SunWa has gone to great lengths to utilize the beautiful environment of the Vaal River and to create a Conferencing, Accommodation and in-house run team building venue where tranquility and hospitality are paramount.
Team Building activities are an important part of the SunWa experience. Qualified SunWa facilitators focus on elements of teamwork and interpersonal dynamics. Trust, support, bonding and communication are the key ingredients of our successful team building operation.
Any of the conference rooms can be utilized as function areas. In addition, SunWa offers the following function areas:
A spacious dining and entertainment area with an upper deck overlooking the pool area and river. Guests walk out onto a soft lawn with a breathtaking view of the rapids and rock formations in the river. The venue includes a well stocked bar, pool table, dart board and a stage area (3m x 2m). Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be enjoyed at 14 tables with 10 chairs per table. It has a fireplace in the centre of the venue which creates a cozy atmosphere in winter.
Fish Eagle Lapa
An open air thatch area with space for 60 seated people, works especially well as a lunch venue. This area brings the rustic ambiance of the lodge into the midst of your gathering and is linked to the Buffalo
with a thatched walkway.
Accommodation at SunWa River Lodge:
SunWa River Lodge has a total of 68 rooms and can accommodate a total of 139 delegates sharing.
Double Story Canadian Log Cabins
Thirty two (32) charming, hand crafted executive, en-suite log cabins, nestled amongst the trees, all of these rooms have private decks of which some overlook the river, others create a sociable atmosphere as they overlook each other and some facing a quaint stream that runs through the Venue. The Double Story Cabins are not inter-leading accommodation but have stairs around the outside. This accommodation option can cater for 32 Singles or 66 Delegates sharing.
Single Story Cabins
Seventeen (17) charming en-suite log cabins that lies in a tranquil setting in an area away from the main entertainment facilities. These attractive wooden log cabins are situated in close proximity to each other and can cater for 17 Singles or 36 Delegates sharing.
Thorn Tree Cottage
This quaint, thatched-roof cottage is ideal for smaller private gatherings. This guesthouse on the Venue can accommodate 21 people and offers a homely lounge, eight (8) double, two (2) single bedrooms and one (1) three bedded room with five bathrooms, each with toilet and shower facilities.
Quarter Deck Executive Suites
There are a total of 5 rooms The Quarter Deck is located away from the main entertainment facilities and an excellent option for your senior management, should privacy be required. There are five (5) private en-suite rooms (2 with baths and 3 with showers) and a small lounge with mini bar, stocked to your requirements.
Duck pond is adjacent to The Quarter Deck. There are four private en-suite rooms. These rooms are modern and spacious with huge showers, separate basins and separate toilets. All these rooms have air conditioning and face the natural rock formations where the ducks frolic in the pools. The Duck pond is the latest addition to the accommodation at SunWa and is dressed to the highest standard and offers unsurpassed quality in beds, amenities and comfort.
