Sunset on the Rocks lives up to its name. Our property is set on a very steep site amongst huge granite boulders and the unique Cape fynbos forms the lower section of the garden. We enjoy spectacular sunsets over the sea throughout the year.
We are set back about 200m from the waters edge and look due North across the Atlantic toward Robben Island and beyond. On a very clear night one can just see the light from the Dassen Island Lighthouse which is off Ysterfontein 80km away!
Directly in front of us is the rocky shoreline and there is an ever changing view of sealife and birdlife including whales and dolphins, many seals, and further out a parade of ships and fishing boats passing by.
We are situated 20 minutes from central Cape Town, the waterfront etc, (via a beautiful coast road). 5 minutes from Hout Bay, with its beach, shopping facilities, restaurants, fishing harbour and other amenities. Allow 35 minutes to and from CT International airport.

Enter Llandudno, proceed to 1st intersection. Straight across into Fishermans Bend Road, turn 2nd right into Sandy Bay Road. At the T junction facing the sea , turn left into Sunset Avenue, we are about 50m along at No 11 on the righthand ( sea ) side.
We offer three self catering apartments which form part of our property and make an ideal base for the holiday and business traveler. Each of our three units share this spectacular outlook and each one has its own private entrance and garden, patio or deck with plenty of privacy.
Unit A (lower level):
Approximately 40m2, accommodates 2 and 1 in an open plan studio layout with double bed, double sleeper couch, and split level to dining area, kitchenette and bathroom which contains, shower, toilet and basin. Outside is a secluded patio with private garden and braai area.
Unit B (upper level):
Approximately 70m2, accommodates 2+2 in two bedrooms ( double bed and twin beds). The bedrooms open off a living area with a bar type eating counter looking out over the Atlantic view. There is a bathroom similar to unit A, a kitchenette and a private outdoor balcony with a gas braai.
Independent of the main house, approximately 43 m2, has a dual level open L shape layout, lower section with Living/dining/kitchenette (living area has a double sleeper couch ) leading onto timber deck with braai etc. The upper level with entrance/bedroom/bathroom area (bedroom with double bed ). The bathroom here has a bath and separate shower, toilet and basin. The finishes are generally very upmarket with travertine marble floors, granite worktops, 12v down lighting etc.
