"So-verby" means "just beyond" — beyond the border of Cape Town and Stellenbosch. By coincidence it has an appropriate meaning in Danish too: "Sleep village".
When you choose Soverby for your accommodation, you will sleep in what was once a wine cellar, built in 1907 by the Joubert Family. Later the cellar was converted into a stable, and as farming methods changed and cooperative wineries were established, the rooms each took on yet another new purpose:
In the mornings a generous breakfast is served to the early morning screeching of guinea-fowl in the vineyards. By prior arrangement you can also have your breakfast or cheeseplatter as a picnic at the farm lake.
Enjoy birdwatching, harvesting in the vineyards, or have a memorable sundowner with a group of friends. You can also have a pool sundowner or just relax with a book or enjoy the spectacular view over the mountains.
Braai facilities are available at the back of the rooms with a amazing views to the Stellenbosch and Helderberg Mountains.
One swimming pool is shared by the cottages, and another at the Guest House is available to other guests.

The best breakfast we ever had! Really recommend their breakfast. The room were good, especially the fire place. You can see the room are not new, so to make it an excellent experience they need to touch up the wear and tear. For eg. loose electric cable at bathroom mirror.
