Rhino And Lion Nature Reserve
The Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve "The Nearest Faraway Place" is a privately owned game reserve covering some 1200 hectares which has opened to the public in 1990. After humble beginnings visitors may now view in excess of 650 heads of game, including some very rare and endangered species. The reserve falls within the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site (COHWHS).

Accommodation at Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve:
Chalets
The rest camp consists of three private, fully equipped chalets. Each chalet sleeps four people and, on request, a maximum of two further mattresses per chalet can be provided at an additional cost.

The chalets are equipped with gas appliances (hot water, fridge and 3 plate stove only), no electricity or telephones. Visitors need only supply their own food and refreshments. The chalets are serviced once a day. The rest camp has its own private swimming pool, lapa area and a jungle gym for extra-small children. Please Note – Visitors need only supply their own food and refreshments. The cabins are serviced once a day.

Log Cabins
Enjoy visiting our five private, fully equipped log cabins overlooking the Lion Camp. Each log cabin sleeps four people with two en-suite bedrooms and sleeper coach in the lounge area. On request, a maximum of two further persons can be provided for at an additional cost.

Please Note – Visitors need only supply their own food and refreshments. The cabins are serviced once a day.

Entering Times
The main gates of the Reserve opening times are from 08h00 to 17h00, Monday to Friday. Saturday, Sunday and public holidays the main gate closes at 18h00. No exceptions will be made. The Predator camps open from 09H00 to 16h00. No vehicles are allowed into the Predictors camp after 16h00.
