Pleasant Places is an exceptional guesthouse that will delight ALL your senses.

There are many reasons to enjoy a wonderful stay at Pleasant Places and whether the initial reason for your stay is an occasion, sporting event, school function, the various attractions of the Midlands Meander or simply to unwind and escape the stresses of daily routine. You will be able to relax and find yourself rejuvenated in our tranquil valley in the countryside.

Stroll down through the pastures below the house to the Lions River or enjoy a leisurely walk around our 16 hectare property, enjoying some of the spectacular scenery.

Relax in the garden and watch or simply listen to the abundant birdlife. There are a variety of trees in the garden, as well as the pine forest along the river and Blue Gum forest higher up. These are home to numerous species of birds to delight keen bird watchers.

Health and Climate:
In the Midlands, the weather can change within a few hours.

While still sunny, the mountains particularly can become very cold at night, with freezing temperatures recorded and even snow in winter on the mountain tops, which affects temperatures lower down.

Clothes to bring
October to April, summer clothes, a warm jacket or jersey for the cooler mornings and evenings.

May to September, winter clothes. Perhaps a warm insulated jacket for the cold morning and nights.

Hat, scarf and gloves are recommended if you are going into or up the berg. Comfortable walking shoes or boots are useful for the hiking trails. Sandals are good for general use in summer.

From Durban:
Leave the N3 at Exit 107, Howick north/Tweedie.
Turn left at the top of the off ramp.
Travel 1.2 Km to the T Junction.
Turn right here and follow the R103 for 8.8 km
Turn left into Lidgetton Valley Road, just past sign to Pleasant Places.
Follow Lidgetton Valley Road and Pleasant Places signs for 4.4 km up the road.

Rooms and Units Available at Pleasant Places Guest House

The individually decorated, thatched rooms have their own separate entrances.
There are five luxury double en-suite bedrooms and a family unit with two double en-suite bedrooms.
These rooms are generously proportioned with comfortable beds, varying textures and tranquil colours to relax the senses - all combining to provide a welcome sanctuary.

All rooms have heating. A seating area with tea and coffee-making facilities and hair driers.
