Old House Lodge accommodation:
The non-smoking rooms of Old House Lodge have a bathroom en-suite with basin, shower, toilet and toiletries, king size, queen size or twin beds with extra length, the finest 100% percale cotton linen and toweling.
Facilities in the rooms include an air-conditioner, tea & coffee tray, complimentary rusks, hair dryer, safe, mini bar, flat screen television, DSTV and free Wi-Fi.
Attractions and Activities:
Just south of the town is the Karoo National Park which stretches into the Nuweveld Mountain range. It has an array of wildlife including some of South Africa’s most endangered species. Two endangered species, the riverine rabbit and the black rhinoceros have been successfully resettled. The Park is home to five tortoise species, the most in any conservation area in the world.
A fossil trail, day walks and hikes ensure an abundance of sights and activities. The Park also has challenging 4x4 routes into the mountains, walking and fossil trials.
Beaufort-West is also home to the famous South African heart surgeon, Dr Chris Barnard. He performed the first heart transplantation in the world. He is honoured in Beaufort-West in the Dr Chris Barnard Museum.
The Karoo area is also a very popular destination for nature lovers, cyclists, golf enthusiasts and hunters.

We enjoyed our stay with Old House very much. Everything was clean and neat, except the bathroom sink didn't work properly. But overall we enjoyed our stay, we will definitely come back!
