Ntshondwe Camp - Ithala Game Reserve
Ntshondwe Camp - Ithala Game Reserve is virtually invisible until the moment of arrival. The main camp in Ithala Game Reserve, is ingeniously camouflaged against a plateau at the foot of the cliffs after which it is named.

Towering above the camp, horizontal contours of pink and russet sandstone offset vertically jagged spires of dolerite rock. These provide the ideal haven for raptors, their calls echoing from rock face to crevice as they soar into the sky in territorial display.

Ntshondwe Camp - Ithala Game Reserve has 67 thatched chalets and one luxury lodge blend into a lush setting of acacias, wild figs, cabbage trees and other indigenous flora.

Very friendly staff. Camp well kept and very clean as well as accommodations. Roads through reserve need a lot of attention. Game seems to be getting less each time I go. Was rather on the high price.

A very pretty camp at the foot of a rocky mountain, roofs of stubble and all the comfort. A magnificent chateau sheltered by the forest. Breakfast included. An ideal place to spend two or three days. Beautiful walks on easy and varied tracks. Rhinos, Antelopes, Kudu's, Zebra, Giraffes, Wildebeast but not seen an Elephant. PITY!

Although this is a state camp (our expectations were not very high!) it is an excellent camp. Well maintenance and maintained camp. Nice bungalows, everything working properly and clean and against the usual practice, some nice pictures on the wall to make it even nicer. Food in the restaurant good and tasty. All the staff in camp that we were in contact with (reception, restaurant, shop, main entrance), very friendly and motivated which is definitely not always the case in other parks. We had a wonderful stay and will gladly comes back to this well run camp, just hope the management won't change.
