Only 50km from historical Graaff-Reinet, 3 hours drive from Port Elizabeth. Nieu-Zebra is situated in the heart of the quaint village of Nieu-Bethesda, the home of the world famous Helen Martin`s Owl House.

This picturesque village is settled in a green valley of the Sneeuberg Mountains, close to the foot of the majestic Compassberg Mountain, the highest free-standing mountain in the Southern Hemisphere.

The village is also home to artists, sculptors, arts & crafts centres, galleries, coffee shops and restaurants. It even has its own brewery. A visit to Nieu-Bethesda is an experience appealing to everyone.

Essential living in an eccentrically styled, self-catering cottage, set in private gardens. Nieu-Zebra is decorated with eccentricity in mind, but incorporating comfort and thought to the general appeal of Nieu-Bethesda.

The village of Nieu-Bethesda is famous for its Owl House, an eerie monument to the works of Helen Martin. Go on a walk and explore the arts and crafts and gift shops. Enjoy Karoo cuisine at the friendly restaurants.

Sip delicious home-brewed beer and taste different goats cheese. Experience the numerous art galleries and participate in the Fugard Festival held in September of every year, (and in honour of Athol Fugard) who has made Nieu-Bethesda famous, especially after his film Road to Mecca was filmed here.

Also making Nieu-Bethesda famous, is the majestic landmark of the Compassberg Mountain (2502m or 8208 feet) - the highest freestanding mountain in the Southern Hemisphere.

You can climb the mountain by prior arrangement. (About a 2-3 hr climb to the top). NIEU-BETHESDA IS A HAVEN FOR PEACE AND QUIET IN A TRANQUIL AND SAFE ATMOSPHERE.

Nieu Bethesda has no petrol, bank or credit card facilities. Fill up your tank and your wallet before you arrive!

Cancellation Policy:
• Unless otherwise specified a 50% deposit will secure your reservation.
• All refunds due to cancellations are subject to a 15% administration fee.
• Cancellation 31 days or more prior to arrival, full refund on deposit less 15% administration fee.
• Cancellation 15 to 30 days prior to arrival, 25% of full accommodation payable.
• Cancellation 8 to 14 days prior to arrival, 50% of full accommodation payable.
• Cancellation 7 days prior to arrival, full as reserved accommodation as quoted payable.
• In the event of premature departure or a “no-show”, the full extent of stay as originally booked and confirmed, will be payable.
