Holkrans Guest Lodge
is conveniently situated on a farm on the N8, 70 km between Griekwastad and Groblershoop en route to Kgalagadi, Augrabies Falls, Namibia, and Namaqualand. Nestled in the Kalahari dunes between mountains contributes to an unforgettable visit, an establishment where the whole family can relax in affordable luxury.
Accommodation at Holkrans Guest Lodge:
Accommodation comprises of 4 units that can accommodate a total of 14 guests. The units featured include the Provincial Suite, The Vintage Suite, the Queen Room as well as the secluded Cottage, a fully self-catering winter retreat.
The spacious 42sqm Provincial Suite is a thatched family unit decorated in a French country-style and can accommodate 4 guests. It is located in the garden of the main house and is fully en-suite and equipped with a kitchenette.
The Vintage Suite is a freestanding 30 sqm King/twin-bed suite with a full en-suite bathroom, located in the garden at the main house and is elegantly decorated with Vintage furniture with decor that reflects yester years luxury.
The Queen room can accommodate 2 guests and can be connected to the Provincial Suite to form a convenient two room extended family apartment. This room has a window view of the garden and private back entrance that leads to the garden.
All suites are equipped with absolute luxury and have private entrances, en-suite bathrooms, hairdryers, satellite television, air conditioners and exquisite amenities to make each guest’s visit exceptional and comfortable.
The Cottage (open March to October) - a rustic winter retreat, is a fully equipped, self-catering unit on a dune in a game camp, with solar power ( no air conditioner, hairdryer or television) and gas equipment and features a fire pit, braai facilities with complimentary firewood, and a “donkey boiler” for hot water. Guests are able to enjoy long walks around the game camp. The Cottage has limited cellular reception and a 4x4 or high-wheel vehicle is required to access it, thus enhancing the outdoor experience. Guests can enjoy relaxing close to nature while observing the different buck species that roam around and drink at the waterhole. Sitting around the fire-pit and enjoying the abundant starry skies is a highlight at the end of a traveling day.
At the main house, guests are welcome to relax in the lush garden and refresh themselves at the Sundowner pool on warm, sunny afternoons. Enjoy a wholesome portion of freshly prepared home cooked dinner and/or breakfast in the Garden Dining room, decorated in light colors that echo the luscious garden outside.
Self-catering or braai facilities are available at the Dining room or at each unit.
Holkrans Guest Lodge Activities:
Guests can walk and drive around on the farm and in the game camp, to watch the plains game. Children love to play on the Kalahari dunes or in the sand and then cool off in the pool at the main house. The hiking trail trough the mountains is a must see.

Guests can walk around to watch the plains game thus a pair of walking shoes is advisable, as well as hiking boots for the mountains.

The Kalahari is known for extreme temperatures and we advise guests to dress accordingly.
