High Corner Guest House is one of Grahamstowns most loved landmarks.
Situated in upper High Street opposite the famous Drostdy Arch and Rhodes University, it is within easy walking distance of numerous restaurants and coffee shops, Rhodes University, the High Court, museums and businesses.
The property comprises the Messengers Cottage which is the oldest cottage in Grahamstown, built in 1814, a former Saddle Shop and Tannery, and the original Grahamstown Gentlemens Club. It was once home to District Surgeon Dr. John Atherstone, famous 1820 settler Thomas Stubbs, and author, poet and playwright Professor Guy Butler.
This gracious home has been meticulously restored and boasts a yellow wood staircase and floors, oregon pine paneling, high ceilings and generous rooms graced with Cape antiques and original art.
The Guest House has five beautifully furnished bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and, not forgetting modern comforts, heated towel rail,satellite television on the DSTV hotel bouquet, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryers and digital safes. Our upstairs rooms are air-conditioned for guest comfort whilst a fan / heater is provided in our garden room.

National Arts Festival - Africa`s largest and most colourful cultural event offers a choice of the very best of both indigenous and imported talent. The festival offers more than 500 shows from opera, cabaret, drama and jazz to stand-up comics and folk music
Schools Festival - Pupils are given an opportunity to experience a carefully structured program of Arts and English related activities designed to empower them by developing their skills of communication.
