Welcome to Epako
, a luxurious 11 000 ha safari game lodge near Omaruru in Namibia. Our lodge is located in beautiful mountainous surroundings on the outskirts of the reknowned Damaraland and conveniently located midway between Windhoek, Swakopmund and the Etosha National Park.
We offer a warm and inviting atmosphere. Our safari lodge boasts a wide variety of animals and at least 170 species of birds have been identified. Our game drives include visits to Namibian San Paintings and Rock Engravings which are located within our boundaries.
One of the places most favoured by our guests is the inside and outside dining area which overlooks a waterhole. This drinking spot is frequented throughout the day by many different animals and lit up at night. Relax here and enjoy a meal or just a drink from the bar and if you are lucky you might meet Oscar, our tame giraffe.
Take pleasure in the feeding of the Cheetah and sundowners on one of Damaraland‘s mountains with wonderful views of the Namibian landscape.
Accommodation is luxurious and all rooms have air-conditioning, a mini-bar, telephone, bathroom en suite and a terrace.
Meals are a combination of Namibian and French cuisine with excellent South African wines to complete the experience. Special diets are available on request.
The management of our lodge is fluent in French, English, German, Italian and Dutch, while our specially trained Namibian guides speak English, Herero and Afrikaans as well as a few words of French and German. Our safari lodge and accommodation Damaraland Namibia is conveniently located near Omaruru in the beautiful Namibian bushveld.
Accommodation is of a high standard and luxuriously furnished in an African style. Each room features its own terrace overlooking the gardens or Namibian bush.
Relax here or at our outside dining area which overlooks a waterhole and watch the animals come to drink.
Meals can be taken inside or outside. We serve a combination of Namibian and French cuisine with specially picked South African wines. Special diets are available on request.
Our comfortable bar and lounge area invite you to relax with a drink or watch your favourite channel on our big-screen television.

Safari Game Drives:
Safari game drives are 3 hours and can be enjoyed in the morning or afternoon. Our guides have been specially trained on wildlife, birds, plants and trees, geological formations and hospitality.
Morning: – Enjoy the morning looking out for animals and visiting the vivid Bushman paintings and Engravings.
Afternoon: – Experience cheetah feeding, spot the white rhinos, look for animals in the riverbed and finally enjoy a sundowner on one of Epako’s mountains.
For guests staying a minimum of 2 nights get close to nature with a hiking trail on top of the mountains led by our well-trained Herero Field Guides.
The walk is about 7 kilometres and well-worth it with fabulous views over the African bush and a brunch of top of the mountain. San Paintings & Engravings:
Epako Game Lodge is fortunate to have both Namibian San paintings and engravings within its boundaries. Based on other sites in the area, the age of the engravings can be assumed to be between 800 and 3000 years old and the paintings to be at least 1000 years old.
Our atmospheric conference and special events centre is independent from the main lodge. It can seat over 30 people and boasts its own rooms, swimming pool, bar, kitchen, braai area and waterhole for the safari experience.
