Bridgewater B&B
This owner-managed guest house offers friendly, relaxed, homely hospitality. It is conveniently situated across the road from the lagoon with magnificent views, and is an easy ten minute walk from town centre, restaurants, ferries, steam train and the Knysna Quays Waterfront.

Bridgewater B&B is an ideal base for a visit to Knysna - for business or pleasure. Comfortable rooms are either lagoon-facing or lead off a quiet garden courtyard behind the main building. Your hosts have extensive first-hand knowledge of the area to help you plan a very worthwhile tour of the Garden Route. Beautiful beaches, indigenous forests, spectacular Pezula and Simola golf courses, wonderful day walks, and close encounters with most of Africa`s Big Five all lie within a 30 minute drive. The Wilderness, Nature`s Valley, the Tsitsikamma National Park, and Oudtshoorn with the Cango Caves are an easy day trip.

Accommodation at Bridgewater B&B:
There are eight comfortable en suite rooms - lagoon facing with lovely views or quiet courtyard.

There are two family rooms - the others have double or twin beds. The rooms are serviced daily, and have tea/coffee facilities, TV (MNet, shared DSTV), ceiling fans, heaters, hairdriers and safes. Most have outside entrances.

PLEASE NOTE: All rooms are NON-SMOKING

Facilities at Bridgewater B&B:
A substantial breakfast is served in the dining room between 07h00 and 09h30 - health and/or full English. Enjoy the wonderful view across the lagoon towards the Heads, and watch the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe on its morning crossing of the bridge. (Currently not operational due to flood damage.)

There is plenty of space to relax in the garden or recline around the swimming pool. The more energetic are welcome to use our canoes - we are literally a stone`s throw from the water`s edge.

A central telephone / fax system , ADSL internet access , laundry service , a guest lounge , hospitality fridge , and a fridge for guests` use are available . We will gladly make your dinner reservations - a wide range of excellent restaurants are within walking distance.

Activities:
The eclectic charm of Knysna and its people, and the spectacular scenic beauty of the immediate area with its indigenous forests, lagoon and rugged coastline will keep you occupied for AT LEAST three days.

Wander through the maze of quaint arts and crafts shops, galleries, museums, indigenous wood craft and furniture factories. Indulge the palate - sample our cultivated and wild coastal oysters at one of the many taverns or sophisticated restaurants. Join a township tour, visit Knysna`s Elephant Park or stroll through Birds Of Eden and Monkeyland, a primate sanctuary in the forest. Enjoy excellent game drives (lion, buffalo, rhino, hippo, giraffe, zebra and many buck) at the Plett Game Reserve (45 min from Knysna) or Botlierskop.

Take a nostalgic ride on the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe, the steam train which runs between Knysna and George twice daily. ( This service is currently suspended due to flood damage. Steam enthusiasts can join Kontours on a very worthwhile day trip which includes a drive through the Wilderness forests and the Choo-Tjoe from George to Mosselbay).

Spend a leisurely day on one of three beautiful beaches nearby, or head for the mystical forests. There are spectacular coastal and forest trails which offer wonderful day walks - maps and advice on hand.

This is an outdoor enthusiast`s paradise - activities abound! We will gladly arrange any of the following for you - all within a 20 minute radius: lagoon cruises, ferry trips to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, dolphin and whale watching, canoeing, mountain biking, horse riding through forests, along lakes or beaches, guided hikes, windsurfing, sailing, scuba-diving, fishing and deepsea charters.

For the more adventurous there is sea-kayaking, paragliding, abseiling, kloofing/ creeking, blackwater tubing , bunjy-jumping and Tree Top Canopy tours.

I found the room very confortable & wide. The TV quite old. Staff very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast room very nice with sea view. We spend two great days there, visiting the surroundings.

Very good location. Easy walking distance to downtown. Host was very helpful and made good recommendations for dinner locations. Wished we had stayed a few more nights. Great value for money. One of the only accommodations that did not gouge us during World Cup 2010.

We thought Bridgewater B&B was amazing, the hospitality and the service equal to wonderful. Very helping when it comes to finding extraordinary things to do in Knysna and not only there, also along Garden Route. The breakfast gave us always a very good start on our days, we loved our rooms and felt very comfortable. Thank you again! Ps. Our kids loved the muffins!

I stayed at quite a few B&B's and I have to say. This was the most friendly establishment. Great value for money. Enjoyed the real home away from home feeling even though you don't claim this status. I will call again.
