Black Rhino Game Lodge - Pilanesberg Game Reserve is a hidden treasure set amongst the trees of an old Tamboti forest at the foot of an ancient volcanic crater that today comprises one of South Africas most exciting Big 5 eco-tourism destinations, the greater Pilanesberg National Park. It is from here, accompanied by your personal game ranger, that you will be able explore a 58 000 ha malaria free wildlife wonderland and discover the magic of the African bush.

Located in the west side of the Malaria Free Pilanesberg National Park, and only 33km from Sun City - Black Rhino Game Lodge is the ideal location for a luxurious bushveld breakaway.

The Lodge is built between a Tamboti forest, overlooking a busy waterhole, which is a hive of bird and animal activity, and a playground for the elephant. On many occasions, the stillness of the night is broken by the roaring of lions, and the Franklins sing the morning wake up call. Once, you are awakened with a hot cup of coffee, your host ranger will take you out on an exceptional game drive, taking you through Black Rhino Reserve, into the unexplored valley of the Pilanesberg, until we reach the 200 km network Pilanesberg Park roads.

It was a great experience. Lovely accommodation and the lodge itself. Also the very friendly staff and we had so much luck with the great ranger Johan. Still so young but we felt very safe and he had so many interesting stories about animals, trees etc. We have enjoyed it so much!

Lovely Lodge and Accomodation. Service staff and Game Ranger were truly outstanding. Food was great with enough variety but the wine list could do with a bit of a boost. My little kids had a blast and we're well catered for with Nannies and Food choices

Staff very polite and willing. Ranger Mathew very safe, knowledgeable and professional. Rooms and main lodge beautifully furnished and African styled. Meals ok but maybe not quite up to the standard of the rest of the lodges suggested rating. Wine list very limited and served far to warm and so range, storage and cooling should be reviewed. Park nice and big and well stocked with all of the Big 5 and other species, all found over the two days. Brush a bit thick and so burning is suggested to clear the dead brush and encourage new growth. Overall, a great experience.
