Belvedere Cottages Activities:

Port Elizabeth is known as the '10 minute city' because everything is only 10 minutes away. You are within walking distance of restaurants, shops, St George's Park, the Opera House, Feather Market Centre and other museums and cultural attractions.

Calabash Tours offer trips around the city. Ride the Apple Express or take a self-guided tour on the 5km well sign-posted Donkin Heritage Trail. View buildings such as the Victoria Library and Victorian Feather Market - built during the ostrich feather boom in South Africa.

There's the St Croix Motor Museum with over a hundred vintage cars. Or visit historic 7 Castle Hill, a settler cottage built in 1830. Otherwise, simply stroll through the many art galleries, antique shops or coffee shops in the area - and the beach is only 10 minutes away!

My sister (visiting from England) and I stayed for 4 nights at the cottage. We were met on our arrival by Roy, the owner, who was extremely friendly and helpful, giving us a full rundown on the facilities and advice on what to do and see during our stay. The 2 bedroomed cottage is very comfortable and clean, serviced every day, and boasts a beautiful garden - an excellent place to sit outside and enjoy breakfast at the start of the day. For those who enjoy eating out there is a wide variety of excellent restaurants within easy walking distance, but the kitchen is fully equipped for those who prefer to eat in. Car parking is secure, and the cottage is conveniently located within easy driving distance of all the local attractions. I have no hesitation in recommending Belvedere cottages and certainly hope to be able to stay there again in the near future.

A beautiful Victorian-era house in a great part of town. The owner was extremely helpful suggesting things to do, and we felt at home our entire stay.
