Guesthouse African Queen is situated in the beautiful Cape Town suburb of Noordhoek nestled at the foot of Chapman`s Peak which is one of the most scenic coastal drives in the world.

It is perfect to discover the Cape Peninsula because of its central location to the main attractions: Constantia with her wine estates and Kirstenbosch botanical gardens, the Cape Point nature reserve, the penguin colony in Boulders and charming villages such as Houtbay, Kalkbay and Simonstown are all within easy reach.

And last but not least is the vibrant centre of Cape Town with her world famous Table Mountain and V&A waterfront only a 30 minutes drive away.

Between your explorations of this beautiful area you can come to rest in the picturesque rural Noordhoek. Here you can enjoy one of South Africa`s most magnificent beaches! You can explore this 7 km white sandy beach on horseback, surf its majestic waves and even spot some whales if you are lucky.

There is also the Silvermine nature reserve, a wine-estate and delightful restaurants.

In Noordhoek
- Long beach: Noordhoek is primarily known for its magnificent white sandy beach, you can enjoy the sun, walk along the water and visit the shipwreck of the Kakapo.
- The Silvermine nature reserve where you can enjoy the beautiful local fauna and flora by foot or mountainbike.
- Shopping and strolling is possible in Noordhoek Farm Village, Imhoff farm or Long Beach Mall.
- Cape Point Vineyards is a wine estate on the slopes of Noordhoek where numerous award winning wines are created.
- Wining and dining: what will certainly be one of the highlights of your time in South Africa will be the food experience which you can discover in one of the many excellent restaurants.

In the Cape Peninsula
- Cape Town: within 30 minutes you are in the centre of the "Mother City". You can discover her with an open top double-decker bus which stops at all the main attractions such as Table Mountain, V&A Waterfront and Longstreet.
- Cape of Good Hope is the most southern point of the Cape peninsula and lays in the middle of a nature reserve. There is also an ostrich farm well worth a visit.
- Coastal villages such as Kalkbay, Fish Hoek, Kommetjie and Houtbay are well worth a visit.
- Constantia with her winelands and Kirstenbosch Botanical gardens where you can enjoy open air concerts in summer.
- Robben Island: an excursion to the famous island where Nelson Mandela was emprisonated for 18 years is a typical touristic attraction but certainly impression and memorable.

What to do
- Horseback riding: Noordhoek beach is the only beach in the Cape peninsula where this is aloud. There are various possibilities to make a guided walk, also for beginners.
- Surfing: the beach is popular surf spot because of the waves.
- Mountainbiking in the Silvermine nature reserve or on Chapman's Peak.
- Golf: there are 3 golf courses within 15 minutes drive (Clovelly, Westlake and Steenberg).
- Fishing: in the area there are many possibilities for deep sea of fly fishing. There are also boattrips in search of whales and the great white shark.
- Sailing: departure from Simonstown or Houtbay.
- Diving can be done in the warm waters of False Bay.
- Adventurous activities such as caving in Kalkbay, kloofing and croc paddling at Simon's Town.
- Visit a local market such as the Porters market (fun with kids) in Tokai and the more trendy Neighbourhoods Market in Woodstock, both on Saturday mornings. On Sundays there is a wonderful crafts market in Houtbay.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellation more than 90 days prior to arrival date: 80% of the deposit will be refunded.
Cancellation between 30 and 90 days prior to arrival date: 30% of the deposit will be refunded.
Cancellation between 10 and 30 days prior to arrival date: the deposit will not be refunded.
Cancellation less than 10 days prior to arrival date: the deposit will not be refunded and if the room cannot be resaled for the booked period, the client will be responsible for the full amount of the booking.


Directions from Cape Town International Airport
* Take the (N2) - West towards the City (approx. 12 km).
* Follow the left link onto the M3 (Muizenberg turn-off - South). Continue along the M3 - until the T junction at the very end of the freeway (approx. 16 km).
* At this T junction, turn right onto the M42 for a further 1,2 km and then bear left on to the M64 in the direction of Simonstown / Fish Hoek / Cape Point. It is signposted Ou Kaapse weg.
* Travel over the mountain road in the direction of Fish Hoek / Cape Point for approx 10 km.
* Take the first Noordhoek turnoff right M6 towards Hout Bay/Chapmans Peak
* Travel along this road M6 until the T junction at the end of this road and take left.
* Then take the second street left into Sea Cottage Drive, continue along this road and turn right into Wolfpower Close, African Queen guesthouse is at the end of the street.
* African Queen guesthouse address is 11 Wolfpower Close, Noordhoek.
