In the heart of the bushveld, some 130 km north of Pretoria, a pleasant surprise awaits the visitor. A lovely place, surrounded by splendid hot mineral springs, peaceful nature reserves and a choice of game farms.

A town with abundant water supply, situated in a district in which fountains, marshes and streams create a lush, green scenery.

As main town of the well-known Waterberg District, Modimolle boasts numerous pleasures of the countryside; from shady parks and gardens to modern sports facilities such as golf, squash, bowling, tennis and jukskei.

The Nile River that flows near the town. This North-flowing river owes its name to the historic Jerusalem pilgrims, who, on their journey to the north, thought that they had reached Egypt.

To complete this picture of abundance, visitors and residents can treat themselves to the juicy fruit and crunchy fresh vegetables on offer at the farmers' market.

Modimolle particularly specialises in growing delicious table grapes, which are available at the beginning of December.
