Ugly and less gainly than a horse, a camel is nevertheless a fun and relaxing animal to ride. These graceful creatures offer you a safari experience of a lifetime that will not be soon forgotten!

Oudtshoorn:
Wilgewandel Holiday Farm, situated only 2 km from the Cango Caves, offers a wide variety of fun activities for young and old. They have four very friendly and well-trained Dromedary camels that can't wait to give you a ride.

Cape Town:
The camels at the bohemian Imhoff Farm (at Kommetjie) are both tame and affectionate, providing the rider with a safe and thrilling ride. The camels spend their free time grazing in the beautiful Noordhoek valley, so enjoy long walks at Long Beach and the charming woods of Imhoff's gift.

Booking is essential for long rides. Short rides are available in the immediate vicinity of the farm stall and popular with youngsters, but to get a better feel of what riding a Camel is about, especially if you enjoy virgin bush and in this case spectacular fynbos, then the 2 hour long "Bush Ride" is an absolute must.

Rides are offered every day except Mondays and during stormy weather.

Montagu:
You can also enjoy a ride through Karoo fynbos on one of these truly amazing animals. Montagu is situated on Route 62 in the Klein Karoo, about 2 hours from Cape Town. Ashton, situated about 10km outside , is just as ideally suited to explore this beautiful region.
