Pilanesberg Game Reserve - 200km from Johannesburg - offers various outdoor adventures such as elephant back safaris, quad biking, game drives, hot air balloon safaris and more.

Other locations where you can do an elephant back safari are at Kwa Madwala (Mpumalanga) and Kapama Game Reserves (Limpopo Province).

Abseiling & Kloofing
Abseiling is a way that rock climbers use to get down cliffs, but has in itself become a sport. In Cape Town you'll find 18 developed sites on the Peninsula Chain - big naturally protected multi-pitch routes to short, bolted sport crags.

Kloofing/Canyoning is basically getting yourself down a river gorge.

Bungi Jumping
Bungy jumping - the ultimate thrill. Venture the Gouritz River Bridge for bungi jumping or bridge swinging and the Bloukrans River Bridge - the highest bridge to jump off in the world.

Scuba Diving & Snorkeling
South Africa offers a huge variety of diving adventures - including scuba, snorkelling and spear-fishing.

The Garden Route offers various reefs, shipwrecks and the Tsitsikamma Coast and the Wild Coast is renowned for its rugged scenery, good spear fishing and delicious seafood.

Surfing
Surfing the Nahoon Reef in East London is fairly tough or move to the world-renowned Jeffreys Bay surfing spots.
The Cape Peninsula offers a large collection of surf spots in and around Cape Town.

Fishing
The South Western Cape with the tropical Agulhas current, as well as the nutrient-rich, cool Benguela current, is any fisherman's haven. Fishing the KwaZulu Natal Coast and the tropical waters of Zululand can be very rewarding.
The Wild Coast is known for an abundance of rock Lobster, Prawn, Oyster and Abalone, regular catches include yellowfin Tuna, Kawakawa, Dorado, Wahoo, Marlin, king Mackerel and skipjack Tuna.
South Africa offers trout-fishing as good as it comes and in very scenic surroundings such as the Drakensberg and Mpumalanga.

Sea & Shore Adventures
South Africa is a good destinations for watching marine animals like seals, dolphins and penguins. One of the easiest ways to experience these wonderful creatures is in a sea kayak.

There are a multitude of stunning places to enjoy the thrills of sandboarding! And with 3000 km of coast, South Africa is one of the best places to observe whales - even from the shore!

Mountain Adventures
Hang gliding is one of the best ways to experience freedom.

South Africa's great quality rock is solid and the cliffs are huge, challenging and un-crowded, meaning that you can practice any or all forms of rock climbing in the most beautiful of settings.

South Africa is the home of numerous cave systems ranging from small overhangs to lengthy tunnels some of which are more than 1km tunnel network under the surface.

From short day walks in kloofs, or multi-day traverses across remote mountain areas, South Africa has a variety of mountain walks to offer.
